Multiple paper feed

If you have tried using different paper stocks and fanned the paper, but your printer is still feeding multiple sheets, there are a few things you can check.

1. Check the paper tray: Make sure that the paper tray is clean and free from any debris. Also, ensure that the paper is loaded correctly and that the tray is adjusted for the size of the paper you are using.
2. Check the paper guides: Make sure that the paper guides are adjusted correctly for the size of the paper you are using.
3. Check the printer settings: Make sure that the printer settings are set correctly for the type of paper you are using.
4. Check for paper jams: Make sure that there are no paper jams in the printer.
5. Check the printer rollers: Make sure that the printer rollers are clean and free from debris. If they are dirty, clean them with a soft cloth.
6. Check the printer driver: Make sure that the printer driver is up-to-date and that it is compatible with your printer.

If after trying these steps, the issue persists, it may be a hardware issue and it would be best to consult the printer's user manual or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right edge, behind the tabs, then slide the left edge guide against the paper. Make sure the paper is not in front of the feeder guard.

If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

Don't load too many sheets at once (up to 20 sheets of photo paper, 80 sheets of Premium Bright White paper, or 100 sheets of plain paper).

Since coaxial tolerance
between the pinch roller
and the LF roller, which
determines the paper
feed alignment, is
0.2mm, skewed paper
feeding can occur.
However, according to
the field data of current
models, the skewness
level caused by the
coaxial tolerance of
0.2mm is within the
criteria of +/- 1%, thus
the phenomenon is left
as is.

Soiling on the
back side of paper
(lines or streaks
parallel to the
paper feed
direction)
- After continuous
borderless printing of
small sized paper (such
as 4 x 6), when a larger
sized paper (such as A4)
is printed.
- With Photo Paper Plus
Double Sided or
postcards, the
phenomenon is likely to
be noticeable and to be
complained of by users,
as printing is performed
on both sides of such
paper.
In borderless printing,
printing is performed to
the size slightly larger
than the paper size, and
ink off the paper is
absorbed by the platen's
ink absorber. Absorbed
ink may attach to the
platen rib(s) after
several dozen sheets are
printed, causing soiling
at the leading edge of
paper or on the back
side of paper.
1. Perform Bottom plate
cleaning (from the
MP driver or via the
operation panel) up to
3 times*1.
2. If soiling on the paper
still remains after 3
times of Bottom plate
cleaning, wipe the
platen rib(s) and their
surroundings with a
cotton swab.

ribs were cleaned

The paper feed solenoid is sticking, it can be seen thru a hole in the back with the door opened. Not easy to get to, but I have been able to bend the stop tab slightly and run just fine.

Have you tried a different brand of paper?. When choosing the paper try and select one which the sheets can slide easily over each other. I had loads of problems with multiple feeds and paper jams with a cheap paper. I then changed to a heavier 90gsm all in one paper from staples and have had no more problems since.(and i just chuck the paper in straight from the packet with no fanning etc)

That is usually caused by the paper feed rollers being cover with paper dust. Take a clean cotton pad and alcohol and clean the rollers :turninig each roller as you clean it. if it has a rear dor, open it to get better access to the rollers.

Your paper is with excess of moisture. Try to keep the paper in a peper dryer, and do not use to leave the sheets not used in the printer, keep them in a dryer, or a dry place.

There is probably a paper jam in the tray feed path. The other situation is that the tray paper pick up roller has become hardened/polished, or the paper tray paper is greasy. First step, take the paper from the tray, and fan it out, so each sheet is separated from the next. try it with jut a dozen or so sheets, change the paper.

Thoroughly check the paper feed path.

If not working, then check/clean the rollers.

Check the feeder roller inside the printer for any foreign substance stuck to the roller, this may cause it not to grip properly. You can also try a few sheets at a time and make sure the paper tray is gripping the paper, but not too hard. If this fails, the roller may be out of place somewhat, try to reposition it. Multiple sheet feeding in any printer can mean many things. Paper roller blockages and jams, wrong paper for printer, too much paper in. Make sure you check right down the back and inside the unit for anh small blocks. This can then cause errors in the printer itself. As it is now printing but slow, the paer issue could be resoved but you may now have driver errors or pc issues. Are you getting any flashing LED lights. Have you checked to see if device is showing errors or functioning correctly. Go to start menu, control panel, performance/main, system, devices, scroll down to your printer, are there any yellow exclamations? Does it say it is working ok?
