Question about Sony ICD-B26 Handheld Digital Voice Recorder
Hi, my voice recorder started beeping due to low battery power (i think)... this has happened before and i changed bateries and no probs, however this time i didnt change batteries and after an hour or so the beeping stopped and the screen went blank. since then i have tried installing several new sets of batteries and nothing, nada, zip.... no signs of life whatsoever... would appreciate any help to get it going again... thanks.

This is a common CCD defect in numerous Sony and other digital cameras. It will be covered free of charge by Sony even if the equipment is out of warranty. Check this site: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html and use the link there to get your free repair!

SOURCE: LCD DISPLAY BLANK
The LCd connecting Flexible strip might be faulty. If you can view the picture in dark way, then the back light can be the faluty part. If they are all OK, then replace the LCD. The connecting strip is failing fast as per our experience and this costs US$ 21.00 and it is available with us.

SOURCE: TV suddenly doesn't respond to Sony remote & power button on Satellite remote.
I am having the same problem with the "initial setup" screen flashing repeatedly/ intermittently. It's not a problem with the remote. In the research I have done online, it seems as though this is a common/known problem with the Wegas that will require a service visit. Apparently the problem is a defective receiver chip. The best thread I found is at: http://www.agoraquest.com/viewtopic.php?topic=15393&forum=34&start=0&select_page_number=1 I've seen some speculation that it is caused by windex or cleaning fluid dripping down when the screen is cleaned and corroding one of the internal components. That's not applicable in my case, since I always just clean the screen with a microfiber dusting cloth. So, I guess I will be calling a repairman and spending $$$ to fix as it is now flashing up so often as to be unwatchable. Ridiculous, I think, given that my TV is only 3 years old!!

the head may be dirty, try cleaning the head with a cleaner tape and try recording again.

I have seen this problem a lot lately. Make sure you run a system update and update to the latest firmware which is currently 2.60 this should resolve your issue.
