Computer wont go past a blue error screen

My computer wont startup. when i turn it on it goes to a black page called windows error recovery. When i try to launch the startu repair there are no operating systems listed. It saids that if there are no operating systems listed to load drivers from your hard disk. But whatever i load does no show up.When i try to start windows normally, it goes to a blue screen that saids the disk may be corrupted or the power was turned off suddenly. The last thing i did on my computer was use Facebook then turned it off normally through the taskbar.

hard drive has died? Ive had the laptop for no more than a month. Im on vacation in America so i cant get my warranty from Australia for another 4 months.

Ive heard that acer laptops with more than 2gigs of RAM can have this problem. IT cant be anything like that?

ah no worries, my dad set up this website and just told me to type my problem. It turns out that with a bit more web surfing, i could use the Alt+F10 button at the startup screen to restore the laptop to default factory settings. I lost my C drive but luckily ive always keep my important files on an external harddrive.

Thankyou for the quick replies though, im sure if i had a desktop comp, u would be able to sort me out :)

Computer startup problems

Likely the hard drive is bad. I would suggest testing the hard drive or having a technician test the hard drive, replace it if it is bad and restore your operating system

Laptop wont turn on properly

A vital component that windows requires to run is corrupted. To fix it, you need the OS disc

In Windows Vista, there is usually a second partion on the harddrive that you can load by pressing F8 (or F10 depending on your system) and selecting the repair your computer option (depending on your manufacturer, you might need to input a password, after that choose the repair your computer option or solve startup problems

In Windows XP load the disc and open the recovery manager.

Acer aspire 3680 problem (anyone help plese?)

if you haven't delete the recovery partition, you can reload the OS using alt+F10.
during boot (after acer logo), press alt+F10, it will guide you to reload your OS.
if your recovery partition is corrupt, you should call acer call center to get the cd or you can buy cd from microsoft
