How to enable vga mode

How to boot into safe mode or VGA mode Sometimes while changing video cards you can get Windows into such a bad state that it refuses to boot. If something is wrong with your display drivers Windows will often be unable to start up properly. But in order to fix the problem you need to get into Windows so you can re-install or fix your display drivers. So Windows won't run but you need to use Windows to try to fix the problem. Fortunately Windows can run in "safe mode" which allows it to boot while not using your installed display drivers. Unless Windows is severely damaged, it should be able to boot in safe mode.

To get into safe mode with Windows 98 and ME press and hold the Ctrl key immediately after you turn on your computer. In other versions of Windows you need to press the F8 key. On some computers you can press and hold F8 and on others you have to press F8 at the right time which is usually just after the initial BIOS screen (see fiddling with your BIOS) has been displayed. If you can

We have desktop xp and it is running on safemode how do we take this off

You can't take off Safe Mode, it's there for your protection. However, if you want to boot into Normal Mode, shut down the computer. When you hear the computer beep, start tapping F8 on your keyboard. Keep tapping it until you reach the Advanced Options menu. Once you've reached this, just select "Start Windows Normally".
Now it will boot you into Windows on Normal Mode, not Safe Mode.

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Sony vaio won't boot tells me no entry point found. plz help

WINDOWSLogin or WINLogon?

The first is or must be part of something trying to load at boot time, the 2d is required to start windows. You can start in SAFE mode (Press F8 while booting) and test the first (Windowslogin.exe) - If it boots all the way into BASIC looking (no bells) Windows, the PROGRAM trying to load is the culprit. Next, restart in SAFE Mode with NETWORK Support, DL 'Malwarebytes' and let it fix it - or at least tell you if it is malware (I suspect it is)

You can start in Console Recovery mode (Boot PC from O/S CD and select recovery Console) and simply copy over a new WINLogon.exe from your system32\dllcache directory using the COPY command

Sleep mode in emachine t5224

Hello:
Start the computer.
At the screen press F8 or find the screen to go to SAFE Boot mode. If you can get the computer to boot to safe mode, you can then fix the problem.

What probably happened is that the file for the sleep cache has become corrupted.
Search the net for other helps along this line.
Go slowly and find the right solution.
You can lose your data, if this is not done right.
thanks,

I reset my toshiba laptop, (windows vista) and it added a password, i used fix- it utilities 8

if you did not put a password then try just hitting Enter or Return on the password line

Usually your user name will do or "Administrator" (note the capitals letters)

password line will be blank

if all fails then try goin into safe mode by tapping F8 key while booting up computer and selecting Administrator, then once inside the computer you can remove the password from control panel / User account section.

I have a Packard Bell Imedia 5106. I want to start it in Safe Mode so I can run a virus scan and basically clean it up. I have tried tapping F8 when I switch on. This takes me to a boot screen with three...

hmmm its seems your first F8 takes you the boot menu option of BIOS not one of the windows.

So, after selecting first option again press F8 it will bring the windows boot menu options.

You can also do one thing but it might currept your operating system, even if you want to try just start booting and as well widows goin to load press and hold your power switch till you PC goes power off. So since windows did not load properly, when you will boot it automatically brigs the boot option screen to select Normal or Safe mode.

Thanks
