I have the same problem. Remote worked for a couple days, now the remote doesn't work and no other remote will work on the TV.

  • emweaver911 Feb 11, 2009

i tried your solutions, but they didn't work.

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2009

tessa's solution worked for me too! thanks!

  • nancycnv Mar 02, 2009

I have a Sharp LC37SB24U 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV that uses this remote control (GA667WJSA) that had the same problem. The red light would not even blink when I press on. At first I thought it was batteries, but after replacing with new batteries > still no go.

Then I bought two universal controls (I admit they're not the expensive kind) and could not find the program codes after hours of playing with thsi.

Finally ran into this site and I applaud whoever came up with this brilliant solution. It works very, very well.

Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!! Saved me hours from finding the right universal control.

  • g-man_1967 May 03, 2009

    Unreal!
    That ACTUALLY WORKED!
    Wow, could not believe it.
Followed those instructions to a tee and presto.

    I have a Sharp Aquos 32 - LC32D44U

    Cheers!

My jaw is on the floor!! I've been without my bedroom TV for almost a month. We even tried buying a universal remote. This "broken" remote has been the root of a few arguments LOL I immediately texted my husband :) THANK YOU!!!!

Wow I just did this and it fixed my remote not working! Awesome, thank you so much, saved me trying to buy a new remote!

OK, all you really need to do is unplug the tv and maybe take out the batteries as well. The rest is somebody having a good laugh at all of us pressing the power button without batteries thinking that it does something lol

Ok I just dealt with the Sharp customer support for this problem. 1) You need to unplug the TV for 1 full minute and remove the batteries from your remote aswell (this will reset the system)
2) Hold the power button on the remote for 30 seconds with the batteries still out of the remote and the TV still unplugged
3) After the 30 seconds replace batteries then press every button on the remote beginning with the power button in order from left to right and top to bottom (same way you read)
4) Then plug your tv back in and try the remote again.... and the remote and TV should be back in sync.

... let me tell you I thought the lady was crazy when she was telling me this but it worked!

Actually, solution is even easier. Unplug the TV press anh hold power button on the set for 10 seconds, release the button, plug in the TV. Enjoy!

This also worked for me. great solution. I had to do it twice, though because the first time I pressed literally all the buttons on the remote including volume, channel, enter and scroll buttons but this did not work for me.
what worked for me was to follow mdanyliw's instructions but skip the volume, channel, enter and scoll buttons.

I'm so happy to have my remote working again!!

My sharp 32" LCD stopped recognizing the remote, b...

I had the same issue with my Sharp Aquos 52 inch LCD TV. I called Sharp. The tech had me unplug my TV, take the batteries out of the remote (TV remote not cable) and press all buttons on the remote (including the buttons under the flip top at the bottom of the remote). I did this, put the batteries back in and plugged in the tv and everything worked. I had gone 4 months having to use the surround sound for volume and turning the TV on and off by hand. This took 2 minutes to fix.
