I'm not sure how big the drive can go up to on your laptop but I do know that you will need sata drivers for the harddrive to be recognised.
I'm not sure how big the drive can go up to on your laptop but I do know that you will need sata drivers for the harddrive to be recognised. (if using XP) If you have not got the drivers for the harddrive then try googling for them and follow the instructions that comes with them. If you are using vista then the harddrive should be picked up. If you are still having problems visit this forum http://www.digitaldiver.net/yabbse/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=23370

It may be that your machine can not handle a drive of that size. When I replace hard drives I always try to replace them with the size they came with just in case they do not support a larger size.
