It is highly recommended to brush at least once a day to avoid tangle. Apart from regular brushing Retrievers need to be groomed every 8 to 10 weeks.

For the type of coat that retrievers have, they will need to be brushed several times per week. Their fur is quite dense and prone to tangling.

I have a 2006 Jayco with a rubber roof. We do not have any leaks, but there are some "soft" spots on the roof. What can i do to treat the area to prevent from getting leaks? Thanks

Dear Kevin,
First, be very suspicious that the soft sports were caused by a leak and that has rotted the wood frame underneath, so it is only a matter of time until you have a bad & expensive situation.
Next, Hardware center, home center, paint stores, etc. have a roof coat.
This normally comes in 3 "flavors".
One is a black tar, spread with a broom. ( Cheaper fix)
It might need to be re-coated every few years, depending on the amount of weather & sunlight it is exposed to.,
Here in Florida, once a year.
Second, an aluminum brush on coat, most often used on mobile homes & trailers. ( Middle priced fix)
Should need refurbishing every 5 years, except for severe weather areas, and this includes too much sunshine & high temperatures.
Third, a white coat "Elastomeric Roof Coating" brush-on coat.
(Expensive. )
I use this, and it is the best, should last several years, ( 10 ?)
God bless your efforts.

I am home this weekend and I decided to paint my living room. Is there an amount of coats that you are needing to put on the wall? It has been a while sense I have painted. I heard maybe about 3 to be...

if the existing paint is a light color and you are doing the same color, then 2 coats should suffice,. Painting it darker, I would go 3 coats, painting it lighter, you may need to go more than 3 go to harbor freight tools and buy some plastic drop sheets, masking tape {blue} and some cheap brushes and roller and tray, turn on some tunes and a glass of wine, enjoy the "me time" depending on the quality of paint too will determine the coats needed, ask your home depot guy. behr brands are good cover paints. good luck have fun.{ps..wear some old clothes}

Re-fresh old cabinet fronts

Give them a light sanding with 280 grit sand paper. Clean well with mineral spirits (anything with water will raise grain and not take stain evenly) Stain cabinets with a gel stain, brush on and wipe off with a rag (check product instructions for how long to leave on before wiping off) If a darker finish is desired apply another coat after first coat is completely dry. Once stain is dry and you have the color you want then you will clear coat with a poly. First coat of poly will need to be a light "tack coat". before it is completely dry apply another coat aprox 30 mins. Let second coat dry completely prob 24-48 hrs. then sand with a 400grit sandpaper. and continue process for at least 4 coats. Dont forget to get desired sheen of poly when you purchase. If brushing on you will prob not want to use a really high gloss (may show brush strokes). Good Luck

How often should I brush my dog?

I brush my own dog once a week and I got a short hair breed (American foxhound). Brushing loosens dirt and helps to keep the coat shiny and tangle-free. The brushing process also allows you to bond with your dog better.

Fixable A5 Clippers?

If the power lever (the tab that moves the blade back and forth) is not moving with the blade off, or only moving sometimes, chances are that you have a stripped bakelite gear. Take the two screws out of the cover plate and remove it. Remove the lever (the nylon part that moves the blade) Remove the link (the metal part that the lever connects with). Remove the bakelite gear (the part that the link fits down over). You should then be able to see if the teeth are chewed or worn off to the point that the armature gear will not turn the bakelite gear. If that is the case, replace the gear. Amazon2.gif carries both single speed and 2 speed gears under Oster A5 clipper parts. All these parts should have a light coat, where they move, of lithium grease, and the two pads (one on each side of the lever) should be oiled. You might also check the condition of your brushes (under the caps on each side of the clipper. Take cap off, remove cover from brush, remove spring and brush to see how worn they are).
Good luck.

Well you could have a clog in the hose or the inlet down by the brush roll. other then that, if it s less then a year old, take it to Sears for repair, it would be under warranty.

Brush does not turn when vac touches floor

You need to change the belt. The belt will not turn the brush roll and is slipping on the drive shaft. This is creating the burning smell you describe.
You say you just brought it home. From where? From repair or is this a new machine.
