If you haven't installed the latest version of SonicStage - v4.3, uninstall your version and install it from here: http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/sonicstage/sstage_dl.asp?l=en&c=WM&sc=NWH&m=NW-A3000 If it still continues to lock up, I think that it's an issue with the database on the device. The easiest way to remedy this would be to initialise the disk and copy your music over again. To reinitialise the disk, go to the home menu, choose settings in the bottom left, go up once to "Initialize Disk" and select it, then select yes to proceed.

Yes, you need Sonic Stage software installed in PC to transfer mp3 files in this Sony MP3 Player.
Click Sony Support, select OS running in PC in drop down list to download Sonic Stage software, install it in PC then connect mp3 player with PC and transfer files through Sonic Stage.

DOES NOT RECOGNIZE PLAYER WHEN CONNECTED

ive got the new version of the sony sonic stage downloaded onto my laptop, and when i plug my player into my laptop via usb cable, the player itself is recognized straight away as a harddrive/removable disk etc,and you have to transfrer music onto the player as from sonic stage music library, and you also have to creatate you own music library via sonic stage, and u can also transfer music from your own music library wich you use via windows media player, and also u can transfer a cd into you sony sonic stage music libraty, and this is similar to when your using the windows media player as to rip a cd or transfer music onto an mp3 player,as i use all diffrent types of mp3 players myself, and i find the archos gmini sx 202 player to be pretty awesome player,as ive got to of them as well, and i use windows media player as to transfer music files onto them, and i cannot transfer any music files onto the sony ones via windown media player as those music file wont show up on the player at all,and ive tried this myself, and it will only work via sony sonic stage.

HELP NW-E107

Just opened mine an hour ago. Version 3.0 Sonic Stage in the box. They really want you to use their Atrac compression. In Sonic Stage, Import your files (or let it create your libray), then it will convert as needed.

I am now listening to music. Meanwhile I have downloaded Sonic Stage 4.3 from Sony website, as well as the 4.3 security patch.

However, they have an MP3 driver that will allow you to load MP3 onto this device, without Sonic Stage (you'll need to install). Doesn't say if it will allow WMA too.

I'll be trying more tomorrow.

the only thing you have to do is to go to the propertiesscreen en turn off the compatabilitymodus with xp en it will run fine.

HELP PLEASE!!! Urgent

You could try doing what you did on "My Computer but right clicking on "Removable Disk E" and clicking format which will format it and may bring the connecting devices back.

However try using Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to put music on again, because media player may find your device.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.
