Question about Epson Stylus Photo R2400 InkJet Printer

Paper sent through without printing

I have been printing with Moab Entrada 300 gsm paper. All of a sudden the Epson Sylus Photo R2400 doesn't recognize the paper and when I try to print the paper simply goes through the printer and the red light stays on and the green light is blinking. This doesn't happen with any other paper and only recently with the Moab paper. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know how to resolve it?

It is a good suggestion but this is brand new printer and I am not having this problem with any of the Epson art papers. I have tried two different batches of the same Moab paper and neither one of them would print. By the way, I did check the roller just in case but it seems fine.
By the way, the printer did print on Moab for one day when I first unpacked the printer!
I have also learned of someone else who has the identical printer and is experiencing no issues printing on Moab.

same problem, but with any/all photo printing papers. And I'm only using Epson papers, too, with same problem. Spent $275 at an authorized Epson printer repair joint in the SF Bay Area after weeks of frustration trying everything I could think and everything suggested to me on-line and at Epson's website and on the phone w/Epson tech support. (Missed deadlines, loss of income, and so on added to my frustration). When I got the printer home from the shop, the paper feed worked for about 4 prints, then began to to do the same thing -- I'd hit the print button after running the setup parameters either through Adobe CS2, or Aperture, and the printer's paper feeder would make two tries to feed the paper into the printer, then the blinking red light and blinking green light would begin. So after another few days of trying everything, I brought it back to the shop. Naturally, the shop guy ran 25 or 30 pages through the printer flawlessly after taking it to the back of the shop and bringing it back out 5 minutes later. Hit the top button, buzz-buzz-zip-zip and the paper feeds right through. Just like when you bring your car to the mechanic to show him/her this problem that never shows itself when you bring it in. So I brought my print home again, made 4 beautiful( if I do say so myself) prints...and then -- badda bing...right back to where it was. "Communication Error" between computer and printer is all my computer tells me. (Duh !!??)

You should try cleaning the pick up roller. It may be your paper has quite a dusty surface and this will cling to the pick up roller making it less grippy. When the paper is fed it may not make the first sensor in the expected time and thus creates the error. Get a service manual to show you how to get a t the pick up roiller so you can remove and clean it. You can get Platen Cleaner from many web sites and it is specifically formulated to regain friction os such rollers. Try either: or for a service manual

I have the same problem, my printer has been sitting unused for over a year now because I cannot afford to keep getting it serviced just to make 3 prints before it malfunctions again. I beleive it is paper dust getting on a sensor somewhere - I wish I knew how to service the printer myself! So if a solution is given to you I will be very interested in it!

How do i print labels using epson r2400 photo printer?

If you are using the Avery template, make sure you change the page setup settings from Manual Front (default) to Default Tray (sheet). Then when it tries to fix the layout, select ignore (on Wrd 2007 anyway). Then select Photo / Glossy paper and hopefully away you go.

Epson stylus k3 r2400

Hi Lisa
The R2400 has the choice of two black inks, MK and PK. One is for Matt printing, the other (called photo black) is for gloss.
If the printer has the matt cartridge fitted it only allows suitable options, including paper choice, to be selected. If you change the black cartridge from the MK to the PK one, you should then have the choice of gloss paper.
