Howdo I hook a DVD player up to this model?

The easiest way would be to hook it up using the composite cables from the DVD player to the Rear of the TV.

First safely and slowly turn your TV around you should see inputs in the rear of the TV.

Second identify your composite inputs. They will be visible via the standard RCA Composite colors, which are Red(Audio), White(audio), and Yellow(Video)
Third Once you have found the RCA Composite Inputs, Take the cable which are inserted into the DVD player and Plug it into the TV's Composite Inputs.

Once all that is done, turn on your DVD player. Then using your TV's remote Press the "TV/VCR" / "Source" / "Input" button on your remote till you see video from your dvd player displayed on your TV.

My DVD player is hooked up to my RCA truflat but i cannot find the picture. I lost the original remote to my RCA truflat and am now using a RCA universal remote. How do I get picture on my tv?

There should be a button on the front of the TV that says TV/VIDEO or INPUT. Turn on the DVD player and put a DVD in it and press play. Press the TV/VIDEO button until the picture is present.

Good Luck....

Sorry it took so long to respond to your request for assistance. You can find the instructions and codes you need to program your television at the RCA customer support website [http://www.rcaaccessories.com/rcaaccessories/ ] Copy this web address and paste it into the address bar of your web browser. This will take you to the RCA main customer support page. Just go to the universal remote control section and find your model remote control. Use the model number to find the technical support information page. On this page will be a copy of the owners manual and the remote control codes to use with your products. I hope this information helps you with your problem of needing instructions and codes to use your remote with your products. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day!

Hooking up & seeing a dvd player?

does the dvd have a coax output for coax antenna input on the tv? you can use that untill you can get the video input selection straight with the tv and a remote that supports rca's extra functions such as menu , tv/av button
or
also if there is a( wake-up) on/off timer in the tv menu , then you can also set it to come on with the video input instead of a tv station, set it a few minutes after the time it is when you set it( then just turn off the tv set after the time is set and you have exited the menu, then it will come on with the video input instead of a tv station)
otherwise you will need that remote that supports the video input selection on your tv

RCA Gemstar F32450 TV can not get the TV to display the DVD menu

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.

Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some on-line sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts. ..

Hooking up DVD/VCR combo to directTV and console RCA

I'd first just hook up the DVD/VCR to the TV and get that working. I'm assuming all you need is the standard cable type connection. This will at least your 4 year old happy. Then you can experiment with the S cable. The S cable will give a cleaner signal from the DVD to the TV. then hook up audio and video cables from the Direct TV to the DVD input. The audio and video will be cleaner using S cables and audio and video cables, but stadard TV cable should get you going. You didn't mention what model DVD player you have. You may have to select the correct inout on the DVD for the Direct TV connection.
