Loaded with programs I dont use and need to know how to delete

To perform a hard reset you need to press buttons 1 and 4 in addition to the reset hole. This should do the trick.

Calendar and iTask buttons first, and then remove the stylus
from the Reset button.

Note: If you simultaneously push and hold the Reset, Calendar,
and iTask buttons for more than two seconds, the battery
disconnects. To restart the device, either plug the device into the
AC Adapter or press the Reset button again.
After performing a hard reset, you may need to reinstall
applications stored in iPAQ File Store to restore shortcuts and full
functionality.

4. The Pocket PC resets and powers on.

To return your iPAQ Pocket PC to factory settings after
performing a hard reset:

1. Tap Start > Programs > File Explorer > My Device.
2. Tap the iPAQ File Store folder to open it.
3. Tap Edit > Select All.
4. Tap and hold the selected files, then tap Delete.
5. Tap Yes to delete all file in iPAQ File Store.

i can try to help you , first are you using xp or vista ? and which version of active sync ? i found that after upgrading to active sync v4.5 my ipaq 4700 refused to sync , i have xp home , so by trial and error i learned several things , i tryed my usb cable in every usb slot i had , only to find some usb ports are more friendly to certain devices , for a lack of better terms , i deleted all partnerships in active sync , found that i needed to make sure active sync is not running on ipaq , go to settings / memory / running programs on the ipaq , stop all running programs , turn the ipaq off , then on the pc made sure firewall not locked , plug usb cable into pc , i leave mine in a port permanently , plug into the ipaq , it automatically turns the ipaq on , then i see 2 icons in pc system subtray start blinking , at that point i know sync is going to work , then active sync icon starts turning , lit up in green , and asks do you want to create a partnership , yes , follow prompts , and thats what has been working for me , now if i was to put the usb cable into a different port , no doubt it would give me grief , and the same thing with my phone and active sync , make sure active sync is not running on the device , sometimes i have to reset the unit , ipaq or phone , make sure unit is turned off them make the connection , give it a try .

I did not know that I needed to do a soft reboot on the PCC. Once that happened, everything loaded at once. I don't know where it came from, but it all loaded.

Probably need to use file explorer - find folder in windows for the desktop. Open it and you should see icons. Delete extra ones.

Go to \Windows\StartUp and delete the offensive program.

 connect the cable with pc , open the active sync on ipaq then connect the cable with ipaq..if not still soft reset ur Pocket PC and reconnect.

What you can do is delete the icons by using File Explorer to navigate to \Windows\Start Menu and delete the Games group, or just delete the icons within the \Windows\Start Menu\Games group. That won't remove them from the machine and they will be back after a hard reset, but it will make them invisible.

Go To START > PROGRAMS > FILE EXPLORER Use File Explorer to navigate to My Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and delete the icon from there. - click and hold and then you'll see the DELETE command.

The bad news is that many of the programs you might like to do away with are built into the ROM, and can't be deleted. The good news is that most programs will run perfectly well if installed on the storage card, so if you've got programs installed in main memory, you can realize some savings by running them from the storage card instead.. If you go that route, be sure to Remove the program from main memory and then re-install it to the storage card.
