Question about IBM ThinkPad T30 2366 Notebook
Hi, I have a IBM t30 and it will not boot up. One of our IT guys are work told me it was the hard drive so I bought one but still have the same problem. When I push the power on button all the lights except the hard drive light come on for about a second then go off. The battery light stays on. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Drew

I have the same problem described above with the Thinkpad T30. To answer ImWireless, the initial POST screen is not seen. All the lights (except the hard drive light) come on for about 1 second and then everyhthing shuts off. Also, the battery light flahses orange twice and promptly shuts off with everything else. Any help?

HI Before send it to IBM, I suggest to check for the connection of your CMOS Battery connection. IBM lpatop has this weakpoint specially T-Series. Check for any bad connection and try to replace the new one to be sure the issue is not from CMOS Battery. DO THIS SMALL CHANGE FIRST BEFORE THINK OF SERIOUS ONE TO AVOID SPENDING UNEXPECTED MONEY. I have fixed my friend T24 has the similar problem and it is fix by reconnect the CMOS Battery connector since CMOS Battery is still working. Try it first before send it to IBM because they may do the same job but eat your money more than you expected unless you are still under warranty. Good Luck.

Does the notebook turn on? Do you see the initial POST (the startup screen)? If the laptop not turninng on at all (if you are able to see a blank screen), it may not necessarily be the hard drive. The laptop would turn on anyway even if there is no hard drive. Please revert back with more details. ty
