Maybe you'll need a new hard disk drive. Locate the cd of the system software Fiery Z40e. then buy an external scsii cd-rom to connect it directly to the controller.
Turn on the controller and the cd-rom with the software.
Follow the instructions are given and you are OK.

Booting problems with Canon CLC 1150 Copier

The copier itself doesnt have a hard drive. Since you are talking about Fiery I assume you mean the colorpass RIP attached to the copier. A CD with the software on it actually came with the RIP but it was probably swiped by the dealer. In any case it needs a SCSI CDROM in order to load it. But all is not lost. The hard drive actually keeps a backup of the software on the hard drive itself. Kinda like a system restore partition on some computers. When you switch it on hold down the top right button until the diagnostics pass. then press "restore backup". this will take quite some time. Once it is done you will have to go back into setup mode and re-enter all the network settings. Dont forget the default paper size.
