Like Google's toolbar, they offer a built in search engine in it.
Their's has a spyware searcher as well though. It can scan your computer for spyware which one of the causes of popups.

This doesn't add a toolbar to your web browser like Yahoo or Google.
Instead, it is software that runs in the background of your computer and blocks popups to the best of its ability.
It only works in Internet Explorer though.

if it's stream based you can use Real Player from real.com
it's free which makes it that much nicer.

Well, it depends on what your are trying to download.. -If its from a site, click the link. make sure you click 'yes' or 'ok' to download when your computer asks you! Look for a yellow bar at the top of the page to see if your browser might be blocking the download by blocking the popup for it, or if you need a plug in do download.
- If its a "torrent" download you need torrent downloader software.
- If its downloading from a "FTP server", you need 'ftp client' software.

Do you have any ad-Blockers? what is your firewall? any popup blockers?
you may need to allow the website through your firewall if its not windows firewall
if you have windows Firewall then an ad blocker/popup blocker is blocking it, allow www.facebook.com through that or turn off your ad blocker/popup blocker
