SOURCE: Won't start.

There is a reset button at the back of the powerhead. The user manual can be downloaded from the electrolux website, although I didn't find it very useful. There was some info on how to change the powerhead drive belt.

SOURCE: vacuum shuts off

if you want to fix this problem gently pry up the air flow control knob and look down at the plastic hose connected below the control valve. insert a small screwdriver and push off the hose from the valve. this disconnects the bag full indicator but will let the vacuum operate normally at full vacuum. you will change the bag when suction gets low. this will save you at least $100 repair bill.

SOURCE: Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly

The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

SOURCE: vacuum bag busted

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

Yes, you certainly can take off the outer bag of your Oreck and wash it in the washing machine. You DO NOT however want to put the bag through the dryer!!!!! Just hang the bag outside, and let it air dry. It is important to make sure that the bag is 100% completely dry before you use the machine again. If the bag is wet, it will cause dirt to turn to mud in the bag, and probably cause a foul odor when you use the bag.

There are 2 different types of bag systems with Oreck vacuums. The one pictured below is the older style that uses a metal clamp to hold the bag in place. The newer docking system, will be a white plastic clamp that holds the outer bag in place. They both will be removed the same way however. Simply take a screwdriver and pry off the clamp;

Once you have removed this clamp, simply pull the outer bag off. Once it has been washed, and the bag is 100% completely dry, put the outer bag back over the bag housing as far as it will go. When you put the clamp back on, it is imperative that the clamp go behind the plastic ridges, to ensure that it is tightly fastened. If the clamp is not put on correctly, this will cause the inner paper bag to fall off during vacuuming. Make sure that the clamp is in the right position when putting the bag back;

Hi,

Please make sure that vacuum bag was inserted as directed. And you can double check that the foam gasket is not broken. Page 10 of the product manual should offer you more steps to get your machine's suction back. Thank you.

My vacmaster PRO 130 When plugging it in I hit the on button it says E02 on the screen. What do I Do ?

First off, check the manual that came with the vacuum. In the 'Troubleshooting' section, there is a list of error codes specific to your model. If you don't have the manual, I'd suggest making sure the vacuum conduit (the 'tube') is clear of debris. String, thread, pet-hair... loose, stringy material may snag and clog the vacuum. use a utility knife to cut it free before testing.

My Vacmaster Pro 130 does not vacuum. What is wrong?

Karen, I am the social media coordinator for ARY VacMaster. Most times when this problem arises with a new machine, it's because there are packing spacers on the under side of the lid that weren't removed. Pull those off and try again. If that doesn't work, Give our technical support department a call at (800) 821-7849. You can always "like" us on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/aryvacmaster) and ask questions to us directly there too. Hope this helps. You can contact me there for quicker answers. :-)
