Halogen Lights Failing

I am an appliance salesman for a locally owned business in my city. I sold this hood to a customer of mine that has been having problems with the halogen lighting. Initially the lights just quit working. Three seperate service calls were made to repair the problem. Each time after the lights failed shortly after. The whole hood was replaced and two days later the lights failed again. There have been no problems with the vent motor at all, only the lights. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!

We replaced the bulbs and it still doesn't work...None of the lights work. It is only 2 years new.

We are having the same problem with our 2 years new hood. All of the lights started to flicker about 1 week ago (they'd get bright and then dim) and today they don't come on at all. Must say that we've been pretty unimpressed with our complete kitchen purchase in general. It took almost 1 year to get our Monogram refridgerator to the point where we don't need to call the service dept. every month. Sounds like that is what we'll have to do again....

I have the same problem. I installed the GE Monogram ZV1050SFSS 42" hood,
and the lights and fan worked great for a week. Then, after 8 days of
use, the lights quit working. I had a GE repairman come out and
examine the hood. The bulbs and fuses were checked and were all OK.
    The repairman replaced the circuitboard
and the transformer box. The lights then worked great for about 10
days, before quiting again. The repairman has now been out four
times. I am currently negotiating with the GE Chairman's office to have GE replace the entire hood. It is still under warranty.

My GE Monogram hood is six years old, still looks great, I had to change the motor once, purchased the motor online and replaced it myself, fairly easy, I was able to save a few bucks. Well now problem is with all four halogen lights. Wife reported all 4 bulbs went out. I checked the fuse but it is still good. Any ideas??? Thanks. Sylvio

lights went out on hood after one year. I went to replace fuses and found burnt wire in fuse box. Warranty period has expired by several months.

I have the same problem with the lights not working.  I bought a fuse #wb27x10542, but I can't figure out where it goes.  I opened the little black box, but there doesn't seem to be a fuse inside to replace.  Someone help?

I had the same experiences with my lights. I placed a 50v bulb and it blew the fuses. The fusees located on the right side of the bottom duct cover. use 5a 125 v fuse GE part # wb27x10542 but you can find a cheaper fuse at Radio Shack. Good luck

halogen lamps get very hot. The ones on my cooker hood were enclosed in very small space behind a glass cover. I simply took the glass out so the bulbs run much cooler and last much longer. They are still safe as they are at the back of the hood out of harms way.

If the hood is on the same circuit as the range / cooker then maybe there is a power surge when the cooker is turned on or off, or possibly a low voltage when the cooker is running - that will often damage halogens - try wiring the hood totally seperate. Unless there is a similar generic fault with both hoods, power supply has to be the problem. (I am guessing that the bulbs were the right ones). Hope this can help :)

At the back of the instruction book should be the contact details for Argos customer service.

The products sold under the Cookworks range are made by various manufacturers for Argos, it's one of their own brands.

I need a new coard for a chefs mark deep fryer molder number Ldf401B richard powell 7655851560

Hello, Richard -

Apparently the Chef's Mark product trademark is owned by Bluestem Brands, Inc. It also seems that Chef's Mark products may be sold exclusively through Fingerhut, also owned by Bluestem Brands.

However, I have not been able to find any source for any replacement part for ANY Chef's Mark product, including your deep fryer.

This is the link to the Fingerhut Contact Us page:
https://www.fingerhut.com/customerService/contactUs

You may wish to telephone Fingerhut Customer Service and ask about the availibility or a replacement cord.

I did check the Fingerhut offerings of Chef's Mark products and did not find your model of the deep fryer. I did find model number AD884SS:
https://www.fingerhut.com/product/RM125.uts

If there is no replacement cord available through Fingerhut, you may wish to find and contact a local repair business for small kitchen appliances to find out if they have an electrical cord which would work with your deep fryer.

Electrolux PLHV42P8CC/two lights working two out and replacing bulbs does not fix the issue

Good Afternoon Rick,

I see that you are having trouble with the front right and back right halogen lights not working on your Electrolux range hood, model# PLHV42P8CC. I also see that you have heard of testing and replacing the transformer inside your appliance. I suggest contacting an authorized technician. It could possibly be something other than the transformer or it is possible that it is the transformer and something else that is causing the right side lights to not come on. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

You may want to refer to your local yellow pages for an independent small appliance servicer in your area who may be able to help you.
In 2000, GE housewares products became available through Wal-Mart. For repair or parts, you may call 877-207-0923 (for US) 877-556-0973 (for Canada) or you may return your product to your local Wal-Mart.

I want to locate service center of aiwa in the area of quezon city, philippines

The Aiwa Corporation is a consumer-electronics company from Japan which started in the early 1970's. It has its momentary popularity in the country for the comparable quality of its appliances particularly audio equipment at cheaper prices. In early 2000, the company plummets towards insolvency and was acquired by the biggest electronics company in the world, Sony Corporation.
Aiwa was given a new lease of life as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony. In 2004 however, 2004 Sony has shelved its support for the Aiwa brand as manufacture and distribution of Aiwa products were discontinued. Similarly in the Philippines, the Solid Group Inc. (SGI), the local company in charge of the marketing, sales and service of Sony products had also put off the marketing and distribution of the Aiwa appliances.
By 2006, Aiwa products were no longer sold in the market around the world. Technically therefore, there exists no Aiwa Service Center anymore. However, Sony, its mother company and the Solid group in the Philippines may still provide repair services for Aiwa products. For service repairs of your old Aiwa appliances, you may call 330-1111 for service inquiries or email [email protected]. You may also contact the Sony customer hotline no. 02-8787600 or 09178077669 or email [email protected].

Glass Surface Light Lens Cracks from Halogen lights use

The lights do get very hot, so they must be a sufficient distance from the lens. Was there an instruction sheet with the new lens? You may need to adjust the sockets upward. You might call a local GE-authorized servicer to see. Concerning the vent fan, this is a problem with the control panel assembly, which we repair nationwide for $39.95. Details are at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
