Toshiba 32" HDTV 2002

I have a 32" Toshiba HDTV i bought in 2002 at Best Buy. I have had it service 4 times in the last 3 years. The last 3 times the power shut off and my local repair man has replaced numerous parts but the problem has occurred again. This is the WORST TV I have ever owned. It now turns itself off as if it blows a fuse. Sometimes after minutes, sometimes after hours. Has anyone else had this problem. I can not justify putting any more money into this TV

The power regulators are famous for going bad. The big problem with this TV set is that unless you use the exact regulator from Toshiba, this set will fail time and time again. Even if the regulator IC has the exact same number, it will not hold up. We used to have a shop that was authorized by Toshiba, and we seen this problem many times when customers would say that they had their TV fixed by some local shop and the same problem occured several times. Check the fuses on the ysus & zsus boards. Are any fuses on boards open . Disconect power cabels to ysus board first {board on left} . put tv on . if the light is green the ysus board must be replaced.

Toshiba LCD TV AV500E Turns off then on every 5 minutes

It sounds to me that the Main board is causing the problem. But I would get in touch with Toshiba for a warranty repair. It has a one year parts and labor warranty. It makes it a lot cheaper for the pocket.

make sure all other applances are ok not a line buffer are spike problem,maybe too high voltage coming for power company check with meter do you have a lot of bulbs going bad

Toshiba 56hm66 New lamp worked last night, wont boot up again

You now have a defective lamp ballast board. It sometimes is the root cause of lamp failures in these sets. The problem here is that Toshiba does not sell the ballast board independently from the larger, more expensive light engine assy. Call Best Buy back and get a servicer out there. He may have to take the ballast board out of your TV and send it out for rebuilding.
