SOURCE: my FUJI FINEPIX S5700 Digital Camera keeps saying

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

SOURCE: zoom lens won't retract

Usually down to the lens block assy being faulty. Is the lens retracting and opening properly?.It usually turns out to be worn gears in the lens drive assy or the result of a fall.Either way will be expensive repair! My advise is check and see whether camera is covered by insurance for accidental knocks.,

SOURCE: fuji finepix A600 camera - Zoom error

I had the same problem turn up after a few weeks. When I used the zoom button, the lens pushed out again and the camera worked normally for that time. I had to go through that procedure every time I turned the camera on.
I then sent it back on warranty and they replaced the lens assembly as well as the mode dial knob etc.
This camera has a 3 year warranty.
good luck...

SOURCE: keep getting a message saying zoom error on my

Had the same problem, but I just "fixed" mine! I slammed mine on the kitchen counter while holding down the shutter button and sliding the "on" button at the same time. The camera is working fine now. Obviously, my camera was not under warranty and I do not have insurance, so I had nothing to lose by trying this "fix."

FinePix A500 Fuji camera "focus error"

Check out this link: www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/fuji-finepix-z1_question.html?qid=4289
After the basics, try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji Finepix A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!

Fuji Finepix Z1 Zoom Error

I saw another post in this forum were someone suggest banging it on a table a couple times, not to hard that you'd dent it but a good enough bang. Worked like a charm! I tried the trigger and slide method but while the error message went away the zoom wouldn't focus. Try banging it, it sounds bad but it worked wonders!
