Cranks as though battery is dying

Has done this 4 times in the last month. Yesterday twice. Drove about five miles and was in a slow moving traffic delay about 15 minutes. Drove on about 8 miles. Shut engine off about 5 min, Slow Crank. Another 5 miles, shut engine off aboout 15 min, Slow Crank. Time before was after a 30 min ride, engine off 1 min. Slow Crank. Moved about 100 feet, engine of 10 min. Slow Crank. Starts on 2nd attempt. Otherwise starts instantly. Honda Shadow ACE Tourer 1100 40k miles, with great service record

That sounds like your alternator might need to be replaced.

All the lights on my dash kept coming on and going off for about 4 months. Then all of a sudden the car just died on me at a stop light. Now my battery is dead; but i've tried to crank it many tim

it could be the alternator . measure the output voltage across the battery with the engine running and car in neutral with hand brake on. It should at least 13.4 volts.
If it does then I would get the battery checked at a car battery place.
A car battery place could also check your alternator.

If you are stranded at the lights suggest calling a mobile car battery replacement person or a road assist company if you are a member of one.

They can jumper a temporary mobile battery across your battery to get car out of traffic stream !

If my car jump time would it still try to turn over but slow?

You have a timing chain which should last 150,000 miles or more.
It could jump time and it could crank slowly but I doubt it.
Do you know if the battery is fully charged ?
Was anything wrong before you replaced the battery ?
Did you try to crank the engine after it cooled off ?

The 12 volt battery(LUCAS 065/3) on my FORD FIESTA 1100cc is 4 years old, in that time i have only driven 1,600 miles as my journeys are usually very local. I make sure i use the car twice a week to keep...

Running so few miles has accelerated the aging of the battery - the battery never had a chance to fully recharge in such small trips -  so now you have to replace it a year sooner than usual.
Just replace it.

2000 explorer is dying while I drive. It will start back up but with some difficulty. Could it be the fuel pump? The gauges do flicker a little but doesnt seem like the alternator. I drove 300 miles...

which gauge flickers. When last did u changed your fuel filter I usually changed it every 6 months and they are not very expensive. ONce your fuel filter is dirty eventually some debris will come out of the filter then it will go to your injectors and that is not good.
