Adjuster tight I am having difficulties on my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 Digital Camera in adjusting the top knob used for setting it to different settings such as setup, video recording etc. It seems as if the adjuster is too tight. Can it be taken off to be cleaned or is there some other advice? This only recently started to happen.

Of course there is a chance that contact spray (non greasy) can solve the problem. If not, there is also an ultimate option to change the control switch block part number: 147838411 If you need more info please advice

The flash may be broken.
If not these are the flash settings on the camera in case a different flash mode has been set accidently.

Set the mode dial to [camera icon], and press [up arrow] on the control button repeatedly to select a flash mode.

The flash mode has the following features.
No indicator (Auto):
The camera decides to use the flash based on lighting
conditions. The flash will be used when
there is not enough light or when shooting a
subject against a light source.

(Forced flash):
The flash will be used regardless of the amount of ambient light.

(Slow synchro):
The flash will be used regardless of the amount of ambient
light. In this mode, the shutter speed is
slower under dark conditions, so you can
clearly shoot a background that is out of the flash-lit area.

(No flash):
The flash will not be used.

Lost my instructions

Here's how to shoot in black and white using your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 Digital Camera.
1.Press MENU. The menu appears.

2.Select [PFX] (P.Effect) with </> (left and right arrow button), then select he desired mode (in your case black and white) with the up and down arrow buttons.

3.Shoot the image.

Photos taken in the sun are all blurred & not clear , but inhouse photos are normal ( DSC-P73 4 years old)

the settings of the lens might be too sensitive for bright areas. You can try adjusting this on the settings.

How do i remove the lens? I need to chkeck the gears.

gears are incased not recommended to open lens assembly. need to order the whole lens assembly including the ribbon cables.

Lost my user manual p93 vx cyber shot,

I didn't get one for my p73. Google owner's manual for
Sony p93, and you'll be able to download the entire thing
for free, (on Adobe Reader).
Macro is the little flower looking emblem. You should us a tripod, too and your self-timer. Ed

Problem with sony dsc-w30 cyber shot flash

I found this solution in Yahoo Answers. go into the Setup Menu and find "Initialize". Select Initialize to reset the camera adjustments. Then try using the camera again.
