the water would not go to the drain pan if you install it vertically.

water would just drop anywhere and would ruin a lot of things...

SOURCE: Mr.Slim keeps freezing up

Hi my is Paul. it could be a number reasons but i would check to make sure the filters are clean and coil is clean. that thing that looks like a radiator. should be one facing inside the house and anther outside, clean them be careful not to been the fins. Or it could be low on Freon.

Sounds like it's short of gas. (Caused by a gas leak.)

The outdoor fan is supposed to be on almost all the time if the indoor unit is on. It is designed to do this due to energy consumption is from the start of motors. These fans use nearly no electric about as much as a light bulb. If your unit is cooling and no problems have occurred then its probably doing what is supposed to

How do you clean the fan blower on a Mr. Slim approx 10 years old.

Simple. Unscrew the front panel and remove the front cover. now its visable of your blower motor. take long toothbrush or tied with a stick, slowly brush your blower teeth. and then keep a news paper covering your indoor and switch on. All the dust will fall down not spread over the room. Refix the front panel and screw again. Don't forget to clean air filter too. Thanks.

continuous flash is frost prevention ...clean the filter & switch fan to high

flashes once every 2 sec could be room air sensor contact loose/short...call dealer

flashes 2x every 2 sec is indoor coil sensor contact loose/short...call dealer

flashes 3x / 2sec sensor contact problem, or compressor overload protection trip or gas leak...call dealer

P8 eroor code

P8 error is abnormal pipe temperature indoor. If you are running it on heating P8 error will appear because the disc pressure is too high. It could be overcharged.
