On the back wheel of my daughters cozy couple I misread the instructions and the wheels on with the axel and then tried to put the bar in but it would not fit the I realised you had to slide the bar...

Ok! I can relate to all the frustration. I happened to get into a similar situation with one of the axle caps. Though it looked impossible at first look, it actually is not that tough. Here is a 3 step solution you can adopt -
Tools needed: Hammer, Screwdriver (flat head)
Steps to remove:
1) Cut open the red cap to expose the metal cap that is stuck.
Observe: If you closely look at the cap, there are two slits along its circumference. These slits are the ones which are locking the cap to the metal rod.
2) Hold the screwdriver to the base of one of the slits and hammer it down so that the slits loosen the grip. The **** would give way. Repeat this step for the other ****.
3) Now, hold the screw driver horizontally under the metal cap's lip (like how you would hold a filing rod to sharpen a kitchen knife) and gently knock off the cap by tapping the screwdriver with the hammer.
Hope this helps :)

I have to change the "rear chain adjusters" on a 2001 Honda XR100r. The left side is obvious (take off he axel nut and replace). But the right side is set in place under the main axel bolt. So I...

It is the axle bolt and it goes right through the wheel hub.
You will need to support the bike, as when this axle comes out , so will the wheel.
remove the axle nut and tap the axle out with a brass hammer, if it is corroded you may also need a brass drift slightly smaller than the axle to drive the axle out.

I have broken lugs on my 2004 Hyundia Santa Fe. I am trying to pull the front left hub off using a puller (3 jaw). The puller is pushing the axel back. I called the local dealer. The Mechanic said I...

You should be able to hammer out the wheel studs
if you have clearance
You shouldn't have to pull the entire bearing assy

Look on YOU TUBE there are all kinds
of videos of hub replacements

You remove the axle nut & 3 or 4 bolts
holding the bearing assy, that is all
The axle stays in place
There is no puller involved

I have a new trike that may have ome shipping damage (bought at flea market) The rear axel appears to be bent. severe wheel wooble. is there some adjustment in those set screw type bolts in the center of...

The set screws in the center of the axle are there to keep the axle centered in the frame. Only the right wheel is powered which also means only the right wheel brakes when operating the rear brake. This is because the rear wheels must be able to spin independently when turning because the outside wheel will move faster. Unfortunately no one builds differentials at this price.

If you have wheel wobble you need to determine if the axle is bent or the wheel is not true. Prop up the rear of the bike on a stand and remove the problematic wheel. Manually pedal the bike and check the axle as it spins. If the axle is wobbling then it is bent and will need to be replaced. If it spins true then the wheel is the culprit.

The axle is relatively inexpensive and can be ordered through a Schwinn dealer. Any bike shop should be able to true a wheel for around $15-$20.

07 ford f150 bent axel

the easyiest way is to use a slide hammer but a crow bar will do the trick as well.but you first must remove it from the spindle.step 1 remove the axle nut in the spindle.step2 remove the upper strut rod retaining bolts to allow you to pivot the spindle{this may also require you to remove the tie rods and swaybar end links.Step 3 pry between the axle and transmission.there will be a lot of force because there is a retaing ring inside the transmission.istalation is reverse of removal.any more info needed please feel free to email me at [email protected] good luck
