Do you use liquid laundry detergent & liquid fabric softener? If you do then this could be the source of the residue that is getting on your clothes. Over a period of time the gummy residue from liquids will accumulate between the tubs. You can clean out the washer with a product called Washer Magic or the unit will need to be disassembled & cleaned thoroughly by hand. Do not let raw liquid detergent or fabric softener come into contact with your clothes.
Also, here is a link to the agitator cap if you should need it.
Hi thanks, we havent run a load since reading you reply, i did the reset you suggested.
Yes we use a liquid and pre dilute it, however next run, I suggest that we will dilute it with hot water and add more water to the soap.
I will keep you informend.. again thanks.. hf

SOURCE: GE WASHER SPIN OUT PROBLEMS
Sounds like the suspension for the drum is having problems - there are usually springs holding the drum up and acting as shocks - one of the springs may have come off during an unbalanced load.
SOURCE: GE washer won't agitate
I had this same problem with our GE top load washer. I just needed to pull harder. (Note: The agitator is held in place by about a dozen L-shaped clips in a ring around the agitator's base that will release more as you pull harder on the agitator.) Everything from the base below the large fins on up comes out together. Grab the shaft above the fins and pull slowly and hard. I had to take the entire tub out, lay it on the porch, put my feet inside of it, and pull the agitator assembly out. I wasn't able to pull it out while it was still in the washer. BE CAREFUL! DON'T **** IT OUT; that might injure your back; just pull out slowly and as hard as you can without hurting yourself. I was able to get it out successfully, but I am currently stuck at removing the bell below the agitator. Good luck!

SOURCE: GE top loading washer does not spin out water
The belt could be broken, if not. Unplug washer for 2 minutes, plug back in, open and close lid 7 times, this should reset electronic motor.
SOURCE: no agitation in ge hydrowave rinse cycles
you must unplug the washer for just 1 minute open and close the lid 10 times and plug it back in and put it on a light load cycle and let it wash with empty load. shoul work fine after that

Hi; to Richard Roth, well she did a load today 8/19/12 and so far it looks good..
One other item for anyone who also has a similiar problem, i suggest that you pre dilute the soap with hot water prior to putting it in the machine.
