Notebook Isn't Working

I have an Acer Aspire 3000 Series Notebook, and now whenever I try to log onto it, it automatically logs me off a few seconds later. But for the few seconds I'm on, there are no icons or anything else showing. A friend told me to try putting it into "Safe Mode" but I don't know how to.

I tried doing what you said (I may not be doing it right). After I put it into Safe Mode and it takes me to the Log In Screen, should I go ahead and Log On, or should I restart it?

When starting the computer tap the F8 key repeatedly. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again. Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected. Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode. When you are finished with all troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would. Or you could do a system restore to a earlier date when your computer was working fine.

Try logging in as another user. Sometimes there can be a critical error generated in windows that is related to a certain process or user specific setting.

- Did you make any recent software or hardware changes? - It might be a adware or spyware issue - The best thing we can do at this point of time is : System Restore - Boot the system using 'safe mode with command prompt' option - And execute : '%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe' ; where %systemroot% is the windows folder good luck

I forgot my password to log onto itunes

This is what to do if you can unscrew your laptop gently and look for the CMOS battery on the board of your laptop and then remove it for a few seconds and then replace it back then on your system if that persist then until you reload your system ok

Log in problem..

when welcome screen shows up, click and hold (CTRL + ALT) then while pressing them press DEL twice, this will switch to classic view.

type in
User Name: Administrator
Password: leave empty

the press Enter

you should log in fine, then go to control panel ----> user accounts
and delete the current user accounts and make a new one for you.

this should be it. make sure your antivirus is up to date whenever using the internet

Thats called the blue screen of death. Do you hear any clicking from the hard drive at all? Have you gotten it wet? Have you dropped it? This most likely is a result of hardware failure but can also be caused by malware. Do you have another computer with CD burning capability? You could burn a few hardware tests onto cds and test the memory and the hard drive. google memtest86 for a memory test and DFT or Drive Fitness Test for a hard drive test utility. These have to be booted to by the laptop.

Notebook Keyboard will not work and neither does the touch pad for the mouse

well..maybe..could be the cables under the keyboard have loosened, or it would be a mother board issue then

Log on to your computer with safe mode
Steps
1. Start your computer
2. As soon as you see the first black screen when the computer starts , keep on pressing F8
You will see advanced options menu
Select " Safe mode with net working"
Now your computer will give you an option to log in with the administrator username
You need to log in with Admin and then goto control panel and change the password for your username ...

If this does not work then plz reply back stating the Operating system you have like windows XP, vista , 98 , 2000 etc...

My Acer Laptop can be ON but the Desktop does not open.

it's look like your windows is corrupt.
I suggest you to go to safe mode, safe/backup your data and then reload the operating system.
