Dose the scanning lamp come "ON" when you make a copy. If it will not come "ON" your scanning Lamp is blown and needs to be replaced. When the scanner lamp blows you will get blank copies..

SOURCE: dark horizontal line on canon np6050 copy

Did you try to run the wire cleaning funcation in the add. funcation mode? It could be that a wire cleaner got stuck in that spot and if you Run Wire Clean it may move it bake to Home Position and out of the way... Good Luck

SOURCE: NP6050 false paper jam at doc feeder

When you put documents in the feeder and you push start do you see 2 black arms swing out to count the number of orignals? If yes, dose the doc tray begin to go down and then jams? If yes, you can try something.... OK, turn the copier off and move the 2 paper guides of the doc tray toward the middle. You need a #2 philip's head screw driver. Remove the 2 silver screws that will be sunk in a bit on the top of the doc tray. Once you remove the screws, remove the top part of the doc tray and you will have one connector toward the front. Unplug it and replug it back in and see if that works, if so return the 2 screws and you should be OK.

Purging the memory

Hello Jim.I would like to help you but I am not quite sure I understand your need. The Canon NP6050 is an analog device that cannot be networked. And it does not have a hard drive that might retain any information from previous copy jobs. This device does have a small amount of memory to retain custom copy settings, user codes, timers etc, but really no ability to retain and store documents in the manner I believe you are concerned about. So the need to "purge" this device (if I understand your concern) does not apply. I hope this helps, but if I missed your point or can be of further assistance I will do so gladly.
