Either one. Neutral to the other post. Be sure to set the voltage change device to 115V to match your incoming line voltage.

Sounds like the bearings but uou would need to take it to a motor shop to have this done. This will cost less than the spectility tools needed to do the work.

The bearings have likely lost their lubrication and have failed. You may be able tot find a local electric motor repair shop to replace the bearings. It really is not a diy project. However, if you can't find a local shop to do it, most folks replace the motor.

SOURCE: 2nd Hayward Max Flo 2 hp pool pump stopped working again!!!

More than the motor it is probally a bad seal causing the problem with the motor. All you can do is be sure it is installed right when you put the new one in and if you see water under the pump take it apart and install a new one. I live in AZ and the water will evaporate before it gets to the ground under the pump so here this can be a real annoying problem. We quite often will have to look for calcium left behind when something leaks.

The pump was left off for a couple of weeks. When I try to turn it back on, the circuit breaker trips. I banged the pump housing with a rubber mallet bu it still trips the breaker. Thank you

You may have a blown motor start capacitor, or the motor shaft has seized up. Try to see if you can reach the impeller through the hole in the back of the pump pot and spin it with your finger. If you can't then it has seized and you will need to take it apart to see if something is jamming the impeller or the bearings are locked up. Make sure you have the power off before you try to spin the impeller with your finger or you could end up missing a finger if it should start running.

The capacitor is burned and i think thas the problem why the pumps doest'n star

Is there power to the pump or is a breaker being tripped? Find out where, exactly, the power is out. It could be loose wiring in the conduit or a loose connection where it wires into the motor. Many things.

I have a Hayward max-flo ii pool pump and it is very noisy. I already replaced all seals because it was also leaking. Are the bearings the cause of the noise? If so how do I replace bearings?

Max-flo II pump leaking at top (discharge) fitting. Removed and re-taped but still leaks? Can pipe dope be used, would that be better?

Tape usually works better. Permatex sells a product that works well. If you put ten (10) turns of tape you should be okay
