Can I find Fixya services on another website?

Question edited for clarity and toss in some CAPS.

Fixya has two websites, this one and www.6ya.comwhich is a telephone support site where the Experts get paid for answering the questions by phone. Those asking are charged a fee.

The other paid site is www.justanswer.combut not affiliated to us. Again, those asking the questions are charged.

You may have seen an answer to you from an Indian guy. His answer was deleted, as he using AI Chat GPT4 to answer. The answer wasn't even correct!

Is this a paid service?

FIXYA is free, but 6YA charges for using it.

Because it is free, many questions are never answered.

The more information provided in a question, for example, manufacturer and model of product, or steps taken that result in the problem, the more likely to receive a suggested "FIX".

Also many irrelevant questions and advertising gets posted. This is focused on fixing, and not simply questions asked that someone thinks about, or news items.

You need to be careful in trusting answers that only suggest going to buy a manual that doesn't relate to your question.

I though you had to go to email to get answer on your site when youask a question If i owe you any money please email me at [email protected]

You can ask questions on FixYa for free. You will be notified via email and on the website when a solution to your problem is posted.

I don't believe you owe anyone any money if you only asked a question.

FIRST - IS THERE A CHARGE?

There is no charge for questions posted in the free section of Fix Ya-unless you choose the option to pay for advice-in which case it will ask for personal info and payment info.

Thought u had a answer,, you charge a fee,,kiss my grits!!! that's putting it nicely....

Don, Sorry you have been disappointed. It might help if you understand how fix-ya works. The 1000's people who answer these questions are not employees of FixYa. They are just people like me with hugely varied expertise that like to answer people's questions. When free questions are asked, most of us scan them looking for questions that we find personally interesting. When questions are posed by users who have paid a fee, those questions give us an opportunity to earn a few bucks if our question is accepted by the client. Believe me, this is NOT lucrative. But it is fun! The thing is, the fee paid questions get snatched up quickly by us experts, and most of them go a few rounds before the question is answered satisfactorily. It's really an interesting system. I have been doing this for a few months, and I have found the biggest factor in how satisfied people are with their questions depends on how clearly they have asked them. I hope this gives you a little insight into how FixYa works, so that you can have your best chance at getting value out of the money you have paid.
