Since the eyepiece on the C-740 is an small LCD monitor, the driver is probably OK. The large LCD may have failed or the connector has come loose. The procedure for removing the back cover is rather complex if you havn't done it before. I woud recommend taking it to an Olympus authorized shop.

Your camera supports up to 256mg cards. The Olympus C-740 only supports the xd memory format and very few cameras from other vendors use xd, so the price is higher for the memory you need.
You can replace the card at Amazon.com by clicking here.
In the Menu if you go to the option that says Setup and press ok there should be an option that says Backup. This should allow you to copy the images from the internal memory to your xD card.
The price to have the LCD replaced would probably cost 75% of a new one. If you can do without the LCD and it downloads the pictures to your PC, at least you've got something. That camera has a viewfinder, so you can still take pictures, right. Sorry about the bad news.
you can download the software thru the internet click here : www.olympusamerica.com then go to downloads enter model number and follow instr. from there . hope it works for you . dont forget to rate thanks
The Eye Piece Cover is the cover that attaches to the viewfinder. The eye piece cover prevents light from entering the viewfinder when shooting with your eye away from the viewfinder.
