Monitor started displaying a "plaid" screen on powerup and resume from sleep. Eventually goes away but all of the colors are off. Video of plaid screen http://youtu.be/UyaWxEq-_WU Took the monitor apart and none of the capacitors on the power board appear to be bad, no bulges or leaks. Checked connectors and all appears ok but problem remains. Any ideas on what could be wrong and a source for parts?

had same problem with ours. at end of one year had green problem and service replaced color wheel. know 1 year after starting to have same problem again. I will not buy this brand anymore.

You should have received two cables with the monitor. One is for VGA and plugs into you video card or computer board . The second one is for DVI digidal video and if you have that cable it plugs into the square connector. Then if you look into your monitor manual or quick setup sheet it will tell you how to connect and set the monitor to either VGA or Digital. I'm sure that is what has to be set. Don't hook up both cables to the monitor and computer. Only use the one. Digital gives you a better picture if your computer has that function. Hope this is helpful. Bud

I too have a dual monitor Samsung SyncMaster 204 setup. My monitors started flickering, then a week later had turn on problems like your describe. I found a fix on this fixya website and followed the fairly techie suggestion. It worked. I wrote up a .pdf set of instructions so others might also benefit. Hope this helps. Doug
