SoCal.how do i go about getting it fixed....will it cost much? can u gimme a ballpark on the repair costs or a ref.? i live in the inland empire area. SoCal.
My husband is in the military and is currently deployed. I went to turn on the tv and it clicked a few times and no picture at all. I am not sure what to do or if it is something that I can fix .. I am an electronically challenged if I do say so myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These are common problems with these sets.Mostly main power supplys or the sweep power supply. the set detects a short circuit, and tryes to reset but after three tries, it goes to stanby. Good Luck

If the tv is still under warranty, this can be repaired at no charge.
However, if not under warranty, you will need to have the CAPACITORS on the main power supply circuit board tested (or replaced).
The capacitors responsible for the power supply can sometimes fail - open the back panel. If the capacitors on the main power supply board look too fat, or signs of burning near the solder joints, then you've found the problem.
The fact that the television stays on for hours and other times turns in five minutes shows that your problem is intermitent .A defective component in the power supply is probaly causing the B plus voltage to go up.The TV can also have a dry joint which looks more likley i am curtain if you gave the TV a firm tap to the side when it come off it would come on back. Try it .
Sounds like it could be a poor connection in the power plug or a ' dry joint ' on the power board, if it's the latter, it will respond to light thumping at the side of the tv. If that's the case it needs resoldering by a technician..
good luck !
