Camera faults Hi i am hoping i could get some help my camera is about 7 months old since i brought it brand new. I am experiencing that when i press the power button and the camera comes on the screen remains white and nothing shows. Can you help and tell me what i can do or what if something needs to be replaced.

If it is new, it was covered by a warranty. You talk to their customer service regarding the warranty.

I don't think its broken. What your'e experiencing could be because there is no Operating System[Windows] installed on your Laptop! You can download the Operating Systems from this Microsoft site.

PCB? Are you referring to a Printed Circuit Board if so then you are right it's a warranty issue. If you have the receipt of purchase in the USA and have friends or family living in the USA you could send the camera to them to forward onto the USA Canon repair depot. Once repaired the camera would be returned to your friend or family who in tern would forward it back to you. Also if the Canon service in your country said it was the PCB without looking then it might be a known problem with this model. OR because it's an American market camera they don't want anything to do with it.

Based on your concern, I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Download the camera driver here:

2. After downloading, install the camera driver then restart your computer.

3. Log back in then press the FN+ESC to enable the camera.

4. If you still cant open the camera try installing the lenovo power management to activate the function key.

5. After downloading, install the application then restart your computer. Try step 3 again.

If still experiencing the same concern, , I recommend to contact the technical support of Lenovo. They will set up a depot repair for you to diagnose the computer and to repair it completely. You may contact them at this number 1-877-4Lenovo (1-877-453-6686).

ALL Nikon AFS branded lenses are compatible with the D3000. The AF lenses are usable in manual mode. Sigma, Tokina and Tamron lenses without the built-in motor are manual mode as well.
To be sure, check the manufacturer;s websites.

it is problem of C.C.D, replace with a new one

HI. this seems to be a battery scanning fault in the programming. try to reset the board by pulling the battery and removing all power of 30 minutes. completely drain all power from this unit for 30 minutes. if this message continues after you have rest the programming, this will confirm a serious fault within the internal program. you will have to send this device back to a pentax repair terminal for reprogramming.

I bought a new 1MB memory card for this camera and was dismayed to find that the screen went completely blank - I couldn't do anything!!!! It was my sons graduation so had to buy another camera!
But, have just resolved this issue by pressing the bottom right-hand side of the screen with a rubber topped pencil - it works!!!!
This camera may be old and chunky but it still takes amazing pictures.

I was just reading about a similar problem the other day. Make sure you don't have any of the buttons locked down in the pressed position.

Specifically, they were talking about the gallery review button, next to the camera shutter button on the right side of the phone, the one with the little PLAY arrow and the checkerboard pattern on it.
