if their is no any power indicator at the front panel the cause is either the primary fuse at the power supply section blown. and then if the fuse is blown that was mean the regulator transistor and the horizontal out put transistor could also damaged. this case can be hand held by trained technician. if you want a do it with your own just make sure you have at least a basic knowledge in electronic repair since you are dealing with some high voltage parts a care must be needed.
The remote control do hot recoganize the set. You have to setup it with your TV by using setup codes. You haven't given any details about your tV here. Then, how can one post a solution to your problem?
