Question about IBM WorkPad 8602-30X

Upgrade (path) for IBM Workpad pda (8602-10U)

Can you suggest what "upgrade"  options are  available to migrate my data (address book, calendar, etc) and the Workpad Desktop (Ver 3) for IBM Workpad PC Companion application to an Apple MacBook platform ?
and if that's possible, what (new) sw and pda-to-macbook connectors would I need - assuming I can still use my (very old, but still working) IBM Workpad pda (... which is still working well on my old Windows 95 / 98 / 2000 platform laptops)
As a minimum, kindly suggest how I can export the data to (a specific/recommended) workpad-like application on the Apple MacBook, and the corresponding pda (type/model, etc.) that I would need to get, to satisfy this (basic) need to manage my address book and calendar.
Thanks for your assistance ! Lawrence

My IBM workpad c3 ran out battery for a while and I recharge it and realised the data stored at addresses session have lost . How can I retrieve the lost data from IBM workpad C3?

Their is noway to retrieve lost data on the workpad c3, unless you have it interfaced. Ounce the backup battery has been removed any stored data will be removed and the unit will come back to factory default.
Please see your users manual for complete details.

Migrate Palm address book to MacBook

This is a general answer to head you in the right direction, I hope. Reply back if you need more detail.

If you are syncing with Windows Palm Desktop software, you can (most likely) export contacts, calendar and memo items to a CSV file.

CSV files are data standards. They're simply text files with a comma-delimiter that designates where fields end. This makes them cross-platform compatible.

Once you export to CSV files, get them on your mac (email them to yourself, put them on a flash drive etc) and then import them into iCal, Address book etc.

Ibm workpad sync & port issues help!

You have your Hotsync software set to use a com port instead of USB. Right Click on the Hotsync icon on the lower right part of your PC desktop and change it to USB and you should be good to go. The IBM Workpad is just like a Palm. I have the Workpad C500 which is actually a Palm M500. If you have a Workpad C505 it is a Palm M505. Anything you can buy for a Palm M500 will work with a C500 and anything you get for a M505 will work with a C505. If you do NOT have a USB Sync cable for your Workpad I suggest you do what I did... Just get a combination Sync and charge USB cable at Staples or Best Buy for your M500 or M505 and use it. It was about 20 but you can get them cheaper on the Net. I hope this helps you!
