Recording I'm trying to make a copy of a speech that is on a cassette tape onto a cd and its not wanting to let me do that. I have the cassette player hooked up like the manual says, but i get it to recognize the cd and everything and then i go to aux manual or any of the other ones and press yes and then it says wait and then goes record error. I can't figure out whats wrong with it. If someone could please help me i would really appreciate it. Thank you

Just pick up an old used VCR that has a tuner built in. Only the very new ones don't have them (due to the DTV switch coming up in February).

Cd burning problems

Hello.....I have a unit similar to yours...and I never had that ptoblem...These units are cool and I love mine...but the cassette players are generally basic units...When you record are you listening to the music at the same time so that you know what's going on?....Ok....When you start the recording process....and you see the disc is rcording...and the cassette finished playing one side...you PAUSE the cd....Flip the tape....press the Pause again to restart the cd...I've never saw one of these types of uits with auto reverse...you have to flip the tape manualy...if you don't...you will only record half of the music....I hope this was helpful.....PEACE.......

If I want to record let's say someone speaking for 90 min and burn 2 cd's , one 60min and the other 30 min from the one 90min recording , each one divided into tracks , how would I do this ?

If you want to burn a CD you have to make a master. For 2 cd's you have to make 2 masters, one for each recording.
The best way to handle this is to "create a song" for each speech giver and give each a name. This is because you can make only one master copy of a song before burning a Cd.

But another way is to :
1. Make a master of the first speech giver (who is on one track) and record to the Cd.
2. Make a new master of the second speech giver (on the other track) and record to Cd.
As long as you don't mind, the second mastering will overwrite the first one that you did, but then you already have burned a copy of that Cd!

I want to copy a cassette tape over to a cd.

You have to have a line in jack or a microphone jack to record sound, and really so you can control the sound quality it would be better to have a line in jack. Ive done some VHS to DVD and you have to be delicate with the sound....meaning that if you dont balance the sound out from the source and the sound coming in from the recording end(ie your laptop or pc), it can sound like 10 cats trying to sing Purple Rain.

Recording on tape deck

I have not "solved" the problem. I'm simply assuming that the built-in microphone does not work. I CAN record radio on to a tape and a CD onto a tape. I just cannot record my voice onto a tape. I'm just chalking it up to a faulty microphone.

No, I do not want a plan, thank you.

Why not plug the cassette directly into the CD recorder? Are they trying to achieve some eqalization change? If not, then this should work. It's all analog at tape level.

Questions

Swop the CDR into the tape outputs on the amp and use it just like the tape recorder you had hooked up. Also do a direct digital link to a CD player for digital copies.
