Key Lock Sansa e280

OK, I have a Sansa SanDisk e280 Music Player that is broken...whenever I turn it on, the screen says "Key Locked" and right below it"System Shutdown"...I have posted a problem like this and the best solution I got was to go into "Recovery Mode" and update my firmware...I did this and I still got the "Key Locked" and "System Shutdown" dialouge...I need to know how to get it out of this mode and into its normal "state"...also, when I plug it in to recharge I get the "Key Locked" and "System Shutdown" dialouge also...Please Help!!!

Sounds to me like your hold switch is on. Have you tried sliding your hold switch on top of the player, next to the headphones jack to the off position?

My e280 sansa mp3 player is not working.....help please....

There is a problem with the device firmware itself..you can try to reset the player by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds or until it resets....the latest firmware for the e280 resolved much of the freezing issues....also there are two modes for you to use the e280 the msc and mtp.....try deleting in mtp mode....if that doenst solve it...just go to the sandisk site to get a firmware upgrade done...and that would solve the proplems..

Screen turns weird colors when trying to play a video

You can press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, instead of removing the battery.

As for the other issue, there is not any RAM on the MP3 player to buffer the video, so its best to keep the video in clips around 10 minutes.

Best of Luck.

My Sansa E280 turns blue but no Sandisk screen comes up.

I'm SOOOOOOO excited i got it to work again. I took off the back cover and removed the battery while the scroller was on and blue, then right above the battery there is a black rectangle thing that was not flush with the rest of it. I pressed that in turned it on, and bam it was good to go. I hope you all have as good of luck as I have had. Let me know if it worked for you!
