1 of 2 reasons. 1. It could be slow at reading the information on the cd. 2. you have a slower internet connection. The question is, what Call of Duty? Black ops 2 installs the maps on the hard drive. That could be the only reason I could think of there. Your internet connection matters. If you are found to have a week internet connection, the lobby has to go according to the weakest signal if you're on a team.(Lag) If you are the strongest signal, then they sometimes make you the host. Witch is why, sometimes the game says "connecting to new host" if the current host leaves for any reason.
are you sure your nat is open, because it sounds like a network problem, other thing you can do is installing black ops on xbox hdd if you have one, it will make things quicker. Also if you switch firewall off on ypur modem/router that might help.
I know 1st hand that there has been an issue with the game network, not the game. Also you have to have a nat type two which means you are linked to router straight, as well as an open nat type in the game. The way to insure you have a nat type 2 is by Going into your router and synching the DNS server and setting up the PS3 with a Static IP as well as putting that IP in your routers DMZ. If either of you or your friend is in a nat type restricted you will not be able to get into eachothers lobby.
Check for scratches on the disc. If the disc is unscathed, then try this. If you know someone else with Black ops for 360 ask for their help. First try their copy in your 360. If theirs works it's your disc. If their disc doesn't work either, then try yours in their 360 online at their place. If it works there, then you might need to strengthen your internet connection.
First off what type of input are you using going from the ps3 to the tv. If your using HDMI try changing the different video settings. Black ops actually has a lot of problems right now on ps3. So I wouldn't use that as the basis of what is working or not, I would try other games to see if it's working. Adjust the video settings on the ps3 and see if that helps. If that doesn't try using component cables and see what that does for you. Thank you, Lee
