My Invicta reserve speedway won't keep time but the stop watch works need help

If the stopwatch is working but the timekeeping is not accurate on your Invicta Reserve Speedway watch, there could be several possible causes for the issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the battery: A weak or dying battery can cause timekeeping issues. Try replacing the battery with a fresh one to see if it helps.
  2. Check the movement: If the battery replacement doesn't solve the issue, the movement (the internal mechanism that powers the watch) may be damaged or worn out. A professional watchmaker can diagnose the problem and repair or replace the movement if necessary.
  3. Check the setting: Make sure the watch is set to the correct time and time zone. You can refer to the manual or instructions for your watch on how to set the time and time zone.
  4. Magnetization: Sometimes, exposure to magnetic fields can interfere with the timekeeping of a watch. If you suspect that your watch has been exposed to a strong magnetic field, take it to a professional watchmaker for demagnetization.
  5. Water damage: If your watch has been exposed to water or moisture, it can cause damage to the movement and affect the timekeeping. You can try drying out the watch and replacing the battery, but it may require professional repair.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to take your Invicta Reserve Speedway watch to a professional watchmaker for diagnosis and repair.

My dango watch second hand stops some time

If your Dango watch's second hand stops intermittently, there are a few things that could be causing the issue. Here are some possible reasons and solutions:

1. Low Battery: If the battery in your watch is running low, it could cause the second hand to stop. You may need to replace the battery in your watch. Check your watch's manual or take it to a watch repair shop to have the battery replaced.
2. Dirt or Debris: Dirt or debris can get inside your watch and cause the gears to stop moving properly. If this is the case, you may need to have your watch cleaned and serviced by a professional watch repair person.
3. Loose Second Hand: If the second hand on your watch is loose, it could cause it to stop intermittently. A loose second hand can be caused by a damaged pinion or cannon pinion. You may need to take your watch to a professional watch repair person to have it fixed.
4. Magnetic Interference: Magnetic fields can interfere with the movement of the gears inside a watch, causing it to stop or run erratically. If you have been around strong magnets or electronic devices, it could be causing the issue. Try moving your watch away from these devices to see if that helps.
5. Mechanical Issue: There may be a mechanical issue with your watch's movement that is causing the second hand to stop. This can be caused by a worn out gear or other component. You may need to take your watch to a professional watch repair person to have it fixed.

I have a FOSSIL mens wristwatch model # AM3423. I recently had a watch repair person replace the battery. Battery type and charge confirmed. I received the watch used as a gift from a relative who was...

Quartz watches stop working most often for one of three reasons: (1) dead battery; (2) dirt in the gears blocking the train; and (3) a bad crystal. This is the order in which I typically troubleshoot watches.

If the watch isn't working after you change the battery, first check to see that the stem is fully pushed in. A watch movement can shift just enough inside the case that a stem sometimes looks pushed in, but isn't quite in far enough to re-engage the movement. Pull out and push in the stem a few times to see if that changes anything.

Next, assuming that the battery is indeed fine, look closely at the second hand. Is it moving at all, even a tiny bit? Hold the watch up to your ear. Is there any kind of "chunk" sound about once every second? If you can answer "yes" to either of these questions, a speck of dirt has gotten into the movement and is preventing the gears from moving freely. It doesn't take more than a a big spec of dust to cause this. Sometimes, advancing the time will move the gears enough to cause the dirt to fall out. Some watch repair places also have a special machine that spins the hands rapidly to blow out or compact any dirt in the train. It's usually not economically rational to have the movement professionally cleaned beyond this point.

Finally, if you don't hear anything coming from your watch, the battery is good, and the setting stem is pushed firmly and completely into the watch movement, you may have a bad quartz timing crystal. It does happen, and when it does, the only repair is to replace the entire watch movement. Sometimes, that's affordable; sometimes, it just doesn't make sense.

Good luck!

I bought a Elini Dolce Couture Diamond Ladies Watch (PK22348FPK) on ebay. I received the watch but it didn't include the instruction manual. The ebay store I bought it from on ebay doesn't provide...

Hello Pam,

Sad to hear they did not sent you the manual.. Anyway, I did search the internet for it and couldn't find any manual for your watch. Is there something wrong with your watch? It is a very beautiful watch! The controls should be basic. Just pull the lever all the way up to adjust the time.

The light was fading on my Indiglo Timex watch but it was still keeping good time, so I had a new battery installed by a Walmart employee. The light now works on the watch but the watch stopped keeping...

mcdevito75 here, Your Timex watch is most likely an Indiglo meaning light, The battery supplies power to to Quatz mechanism for time keeping and for the light. There is a very good possibility that 1 or 2 of the contacts between the battery and the Quatrz mechanism were lost during the new battery installation. While you can"t rule out that the Quartz mechanism and or the light may be wearing down, you still have to suspect the battery even a new battery, look for a small watch repair shop in your area and try another battery, let the jewler know of your watches problem so he / she can properly install the battery and ensure the contacts between the Quartz and the battery are being made.

Constant watch problem

The Citizen Eco Drive watches use special recharchable batteries. Not all watch repair man understand this. If you are unlucky they tried to replace the battery with an ordinary one. Replaced crystal could be 2 things, logical is the timing quartz crystal was replaced by swapping out most of the electronics, second is they talked about the glass being replaced - I do not expect so. Call or email Citizen and explain; keep the watch handy so you can read them the numbers from the back.
I started collecting a couple of watches and I noticed sometimes a jeweler replaces them with an ordinary battery. The watch will work and at the same time it will try to recharge this one until it explodes! In newer models they made it harder to use the non-rechargable ones by adding a special connector or clip to the rechargable battery types.

Okay, if you say your battery goes bad, or watch does not run okay? It may have lost the charge over time. First thing to try is to leave it on the window sill so the dial is in the sun. It will start ticking, but please leave it out there for 3 days to a week. The seconds hand will tick irregularly in steps of one and two seconds, to show you it wants you to readjust the time, as it knows it has lost time. Adjust the time and it should run smoothly.

The seconds hand should run in single second steps, if it takes steps regularly, but every 3 seconds or so, it tries to tell you that its power level is going down. It will be able to continue for one or two days, but you should get it into the sun more often.
Charging the battery under a lamp is possible, however this heats up the watch and this may reduce battery life. As long as the watch keeps running I believe it should keep good time. It is quartz anyway. If this is not the case, and a good sunbath does not help, the mechanism could be running heavy, possibly due to overheating the watch; no help there...

If you need to know more about the Eco Drive, look for detail tech manuals for all types here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/downloads/tech/tech.htm

Those are great watches as long as you remember it needs light to charge.
