Whirlpool model GU2500XTPQ6 has the clean led flashing 7 times and will not run. Is there something that I can check before calling out the expensive repair man? Unit is 18 months old. Thanks Scott
Actually, the button order to put it in a diagnostic cycle and clear the blinking clean light on the gu2500 is HEATED DRY, NORMAL, HEATED DRY, NORMAL not the other way around as Iden had posted.
We have the same problem, I found this on the net. press normal, heat dry, normal, heat dry. This will run it through a cycle and stop the light. It still is doing it on a regular basis, but at least I can clear it and keep using it.
The problem the first time this happened was that the control panel was fried and needed to be replaced. The second time this happened (yup, twice!) was that the switches when the door closed were not connecting properly and both had to be replaced.
