Question about Encore ENAFN-RT514-PR Router (ENAFNRT514PR)
Your modem will need an RJ11 or RJ45 connector on the back, which should be connected to your router via a relevant cable. To get into you routers settings, you will need to type it's IP address in your internet browser(eg 192.168.1.1) or similair. When in the settings look for DHCP settings and enable DHCP so as the router can allocate your pc's an automatic IP address. The modem should already have it's settings and distribute the connection via your router. Make sure you enable wireless also, but once you have it running make sure it is atleast WEP secured, this you will find in the security settings, you will need set the pc's also with the same encryption numbers that the router gives you or they will not connect. Go to each of your pc's network cards in Control panel>Network Connections and right click to properties. On the TCP/IP line highlight it and click properties and ensure obtain ip address is ticked and click ok. Make sure also that you use the connection and file sharing wizard to set up your pc's to share files if required. Lastly, i would of recommended purchasing a adsl modem/router as it's all built in one unit and easier to set up and troubleshoot when a problem occurs.
