Format Error C:13:01 on Sony DSC-W7

When I turn the camera on there is delay, the screen is black with the word Access, then the screen turns blue and displays "Format error" and beeps. The memory stick symbol and a code C:13:01 flash. The camera will not take pictures in any mode. I cannot review the pictures taken so far. There are fully charged batteries in the camera. Any suggestions?

What the heck! My camera is doing the same thing. I should not have to replace the memory stick since the camera has built in memory and can function without the memory stick. Can anyone that knows about cameras offer some real advice?

My sony dsc-s730 camera comes up with file error and a blue screen when i look back at some pictures taken, i keep losing really good pics to it how do i fix this?

Format memory card and check, if problem exist then replace memory card in camera.
Note: Format will delete all photo data on memory card so copy photo files before format.

Hi i turn the camera on and have a blurry screen

Zoom motor in lens assembly is jammed and you need to replace complete lens assembly. DSC-T1 is an old camera so oes not worth to repair.

Blue screen access error when viewing or taking pics or vids

Please try to take as many pictures from memory stick as you can then format memory stick through format option in setup.
Hope this will resolve this blue access issue.
You can use another memory stick like 1GB in this camera.

Camera won't power up.

Please check battery terminals inside battery compartment got clogged or black. Clean them with alcohol or some thing and should be shining.
I have seen few DSC-S600 with same problem and got repaired.

Hi

Switch your camera to Setup on the control **** located on the top.

Take out the memory stick and press the reset button located inside the battery compartment.

Now switch on the camera and insert the memory stick.

If you do not get the error go to the little toolbox on the menu. Select the format option and proceed through the warning messages. Remeber you will loose all data on the memory stick.

Things should now work. If not some simple thing that sound bezare but has worked for me is pushing the memory stick in and out before the camera displays the error. Do this several times until the camera actually reads the stick and them format the stick first chance you get.

Good luck.

Sony cyber shot DSC-W1 Digital Camera

I found an online manual for your camera. Page 84 talks about the USB Mode Normal with the 4 dots underneath. It also show a troubleshooting area for this and it is on page 96. Hopefully this will get your camera working right again. Here is the link to the pdf manual. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW1.pdf
