Question about Connex 3400HP Amateur Radio

The channel selector will not come on

The radio works but the light that tells you what band and what channel you are will not work or come on or glow. so i have no idea what channel or band i am on.

REPLACE THE TINY BULB...DUH, use a meter to determine positive a neg on supply, hook up backwards and you may blow the bulb..

Channel selector only works going down not up

there is two common connections to the channel selector

up and down

resolder the channel sectors pins

then it will work

its a broken connection to a common pin
if its not a break on the selector to the PLL data bus then

use DE-OXITE 50 {this one no others for selectors} look on ebay for it

My connex 3300 wont transmit anymore and the talk back wont work either,i have tried a different mike and when you key it up the meter still won't swing.

Plug in an external speaker to the pa jack ... Switch the band selector to pa and see if you hear yourself... No? Bad audio chip

Haven't used my dx-88hl cb for years. what d9 i set the band on?

I'm not going to be corrected on this as i'm tempted to say A or C and sometime D. Instead i would say switch channel to 19 then watch frequency counter as you change band selector until you find 27.185 and you have arrived.

How do get my magnum cb on 19

Its very easy on this radio because it has a built in frequency counter. I can't remember off the top of my head but its most likely band letter A, then turn the channel selector to 19. If you are on the CB channel 19, the frequency counter will read 27.1850.

If band A channel 19 is not 27.1850 then leave the channel selector on 19 and flip through the band letters until it reads 27.1850. once you have found it, that letter is the CB band. channels 1 - 40 of the cb band.

Hi i have a maxon Radio i am not sure what model it is as it does not say the model. I was wondering how i would programme the radio so that it would work on a certain frequency

if it is a CB radio, you are stuck on the 27mhz band, and the channels that it comes with. I am not familiar with maxon radio's. Some radio's the PLL chip can be controlled to shift the band the radio works on. This is still limited to the 10-11 meter bands. You can go a band up, and a band down usually.

I have no clue if this radio is capable. So I couldn't tell you how to do it.

I can tell you, that you cannot just pick a frequency and make it work on it.

CHANNELS MOVED OR MISSING

Yes, the PCB band selector board. That's exactly what's wrong. You can replace this yourself. The board is held on the side of the radio with one little screw and has 3 or 4 connectors that plug into it. Maycomm is where I get my new Galaxy parts from http://maycomcomm.com/

Dx-88 HL

You'll need to take it to a repair shop. Because it transmits its under FCC rules so a certified tech needs to work on it.

Or take it back to where you got it and have them correct the problem.
