As cartridges can be replaced, even if it is not a Magnetic cartridge you can replace it with one that is.

Clearly if happend twice then there is a problem with the power supply that feeds it. I would check that it's producing the right voltage with a meter before ordering a replacement.

The ground wire should be attached to the metal chassis or the tone arm metal assembly, the other end should be attached to the metal chassis of the amplifier. If the ground wire is not used, you will get real loud hum through the amplifier.

not sure I fully follow your question but the 3 rd ground wire from the turntable would hook up to the ground screw on the imic

THe stylus should just pull forwards out of the cartridge, but with care.

If its automatic unit, it need belt to complete its mechanical cycle of loading and unloading its arm. You can check arm movement by spinning its table by hand.

Through the 2 holes on the platter, lift the platter up. Take the belt, flip the platter over, and stretch it around the center ring. Flip the platter back over and turn to so one of the holes is over the spinning motor. With your finger or with a blackstick, stretch it back onto the motor head.

Also check the belt for wear....that should do it.
