Question about Samsung PCL541R 54" Rear Projection Television
I took the speaker grill off and messed with the color settings now i think i boogered up the screen even worse lol. can anybody tell me how to fix this to a perfect picture? i mean can i turn the color on all tubes to 0 then set the dial to a certain position? does anybody know how many turns to position the dial that way for each color?
Although I am not incredibly familiar with your model, There is most likely a small board mounted above the others near the crts, there is a small red connector with a blue wire if you unhook it it will remove power from the convergence IC's and if they are shorted it might come up with conv out, will need a new module.

Common problem known as convergence. The most common reason is the failure of convergence ics. these ics fail all the time because there big and get fairly hot. there is a possiblity that it can be reconverged if the convergence cuircit is not damaged

You will need to replace the two Convergence ICs STK392-040 they are located on large heatsinks on the large board on the right side of your TV. You can order replacement ICs at the following link, and They will also include free instalation instructions plus provide free tech support if needed. here is the link

Extensive analysis revealed this unit to be for 120V 60Hz regions. If you use it in a region where the mains supply is 220/240V 50Hz then it won't work. In addition, the PSU will overheat, with possible damage to other modules.
One possible solution is a 120V 60Hz inverter, else Samsung may be able to provide the correct PSU for 220/240V.

This is a convergence problem that should be relatively easy to resolve, I am assuming that the set is new to you rather than new. If new, it should be under warranty and if opened would void the warranty. If new to you and you can solder, you should be able to fix this. First, realize that there are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside the set even when unplugged. Locate the convergence ICs (large black ICs attached to a heatsink and marked STKxxx) and resolder the pins. That may resolve the problem. If not, then replace the ICs. Check the area for small valued resistors that may be defective as well.
Keep us posted.
