More foten than not teh element is blown or the diode pack on the element unit is blown. You can either have an applaiance repair centre replace the diodes or replace the whole element but the former will be a cheaper option.

the heating elements that dry the clothes is more than likely burnt out. If the drier turns on and the clothes tumble then the element is the only other possible reason for the drier not to heat up. This element is in the bottom of the drier and can be accessed through the removal of the back panel. It will more than likely be in a square metal box. It isn't hard to replace as you will see but you will need to take the model and serial #'s to an appliance parts house for the proper replacement part.

CHECK VOLTAGE=240VOLTS NOT 120VOLTS,ITS TAKES 240V TO HEAT BUT WILL RUN ON 120V.
THEN START WITH HEATER ELEMENT ..SEE IT ELEMENT IS OPEN.
THEN START RUN ING TEST ON THERMO'S TO SEE IF CLOSED OR OPEN...

you will need to change your belt. to access the unit you will need to remove the 2 philips screw by the lint screen. use a screw driver and place it in front and pry it up. do the same thing on both the right and left side. you will then be able to see if the belt is there or not. you will need to remove the 2 5//16th screws on the inside of dryer. the front panel comes off and you will hva access to the belt. the part # for the belt 341241.

I have the same AEG T57800 dryer.  Problem, no heat. Couldn't find a service manual anywhere on the net. Checked for fuses and saw none. Thermostats on heater appeared fine, showing current flow. Replaced heating element 112 54 84 41/8, via local dealer - Respond Services from Electrolux UK in Durham DL5 6ED (£68), still no heat.  Called service tech who replaced the PCB - 973916012018008 (£135 + £85 callout charge). Very, Very annoyed at this as the dryer is only 3.5 yrs old. 

i can't remember exactly where it is but there is a thermal fuse adjacent to the heater - check if open circuit. if it is open circuit, it may indicate a lint blockage in the air flow or a build up of lint on the fan

Check with multi-meter for power on the heating element's tags (115/220V). If it does get power,you should replace the heating element. In case of no power- you should replace the thermostat. Good luck!
