DVD acting up

When I am watching a DVD the movie tends to pause itself without me pushing the pause button. It does it for about 2 seconds then continues to play. You can hear the dvd spinning then pause when this happens. What should I do?

If it does it with all the dvd you play then you are starting to have problem with your microchip or the lens needs to be adjust or replaced.take it to a tech you problem is intermitent.so it will be very dificult but from what i am saying to you the tech can go ahead and replace the components the strip leading from the lens should be replace also they like to go bad.good luck.

I want to record Turner Classic Movies from my cable to a dvd. I then want to edit out parts I don't want. Some movies are good but have just a few scenes that are not appropriate for family viewing....

The dvd recorder will not automatically edit out parts you don't want to see....the easiest way is to watch the movie live and if you know the part you don't want to record, press pause during the part and resume when it's done. Otherwise you will have to load the whole movie from dvd to your computer, get an editing software and cut out the scenes you don't want. There are lots of these simple programs on the market and some are even free.
Quickest way is to watch it real time and push pause on the objectionable parts.
Hope this helps.

HOW DO YOU BURN A DVD ON A SONY DVD RECORDER RDR

Make sure your Sony input signal is on L1 or L3 (the inputs in back of recorder) or on L2 which is for inputs for cameras(located in front).Once you get a signal, you're where you need to be. Choose your recording mode for recording speed (pull down the flap on the remote control for this button and also the input button).
Choose from between1 hour and six hours. To archive really important stuff, stick with the first 3 speeds. TV recording can be on 3, 4 or 6 hour mode.
Push the record/pause button once. This will put the recorder into the record/pause mode and then it awaits you pushing it again to start recording immediately. Just pushing record will force the machine into a 3 to five second delay before actually recording anything so you might mess up and miss the first few seconds of your input. Suggest you use a dvr-rw or dvd+rw to practice on.

When your recording is done, just push the pause again. It stops recording but allows you to add more on to the first recording without starting a new chapter if you want. Just continue to release the pause button to continue.
If you are satisfied that you are finished, then push the pause button to stop recording. Wait for the info to be written(flashing message on screen). When it stops, you may play the dvd.
Notice- since the dvd has not been FINALIZED, you may only play it back on this unit without finalizing. It will not play on other dvd players unless you finalize it first.
To finalize, look on remote for the TOOL button. Press it once. Now push DISC INFO once. Use arrow keys and enter button on remote for the following. Scroll down to FINALIZE and press enter.
Use arrow keys to scroll to OK. push the ENTER button. Finalizing should take between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

Warning- if titles or chapters are to typed in, it must be done BEFORE finalizing. Finalizing afterwards cannot be done.
Erasing can be done in part or all if using an RW+ or RW- disc

Forgot password for dvd parental

I had to mess with mine a little bit, but here is what I came up with.

1. Insert a DVD that you know will play without the need for parental control.
2. Play the movie like you were actually going to watch it.
3. Bring the movie to a "full stop" by either hitting O two (2) times or by bringing up the menu with SELECT and hit the stop button on the screen two (2) times. The following is an explanation: There are two versions of stop on the PS2. The first stop is more like pause only the screen will not have a picture. It will allow you to "stop" the movie and the resume when you are ready. The "full stop" that I mentioned means that you hit STOP a second time. If you hit play from here it will restart the movie entirely.
4. With the menu still up, look for the button directly above the PAUSE button that says SETUP and hit it.
5. If you go to the right two (2) times you will find the CUSTOM SETUP button. Hit it.
6. In this menu you will see the PARENTAL CONTROLS. This will light up in blue as long as the movie is in "FULL STOP." You will then move to the right and it will ask for your password.
7. Press SELECT and instead of saying enter password it will say delete password. Above this blue box will be numbers 0-9. Enter 7-4-4-4. The box should say password deleted and ask you to register a new password.
8. At this point you can enter anything you like, but I would advise using 0-0-0-0 that way if it asks again you can just press X four times and be done. However we are going to keep going and turn it off.
9. With a new password registered, move to where it says LEVEL and change this to off.

From this point forward you should be all set. For future reference, you can also go to http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/Manuals and using your SCPH number which will be found on the box or on the bottom of the Playstation itself you can find the manual to your machine and download it as a PDF for future use. I have also checked different manuals for different units for both the standard and slim versions and the code 7-4-4-4 seems to be universal. I realize that these instructions are also kind of lengthy but I wanted to make sure you had a step-by-step guide to fix your problem. I also didn't want you seem like an arrogant **** and just give you the website and tell you to check the manual. I hope this helps solve your problem.

DVD pauses in the middle of the movie

who ever told you that well... doesnt know dvd players very much no mater what wene ever you watch a movie or anything there is no data transfer back to the cd it is a one way process unless you were burning the dvd which you would not be able to watch it at that time. as for the pausing thing take a soft cloth and clean the cd then get a can of compressed air and blow it into the slots to make sure that it is clean inside the machine. if that does not work then your problem is with the dvd. does it do it with other dvd's or just that one?

Any button pushed on my remote control causes ''SET 1'' on display.

Hi, All you need to do is point the remote at your DVD player and hold both the number "1" and "enter" keys down for about 10 seconds. Evidently that re-sets the remote. It worked for me so good luck.

DUAL XDVD700 BYPASS

The way you bypass the E Brake is you have to ground the wire to the radio sleev itself. There are two different peices. The radio itself and the sleeve that holds the radio in place. Take the yellow wire (the ebrake wire, not the yellow ignition wire) and open the metal connector up just slightly. Attach that wire to the top of the sleeve on 1 of the teeth located near the front of the unit. You have to make sure that the connection is good or it will not ground. Next slide the clear plastic over the wire so the only connection is with the tooth.
Then Insert a cd or dvd in the player. Press play on the remote and then push stop 2 X times on the remote. After you have done that press 26604 on the remaote and then press enter. This will permanently unlock the parking brake feature and allow you to watch dvds while in motion. If you need any further help you can eamial me.

Problems watching DVD's, and Burning DVD's

I think the first problem started with a DRIVER problem. If you had corrected this at the onset then maybe you would not be experiencing this problem. I think what might be happening according to your information is the DVD is burining to your suggested encoding fadst then slow. Try starting again change the drivers rollback to the last one or find and updated driver. Then see if the problem is there. It might be stuffed the drive that is. Post some more info
