Typical failure is High voltage supply. Can you hear a high pitch whine or the relay click on and off? You will need some test point reffence voltages for the board and confirm you do not have a damaged VGA cable. It is not easy to give step by step via forum. Google "monitor repair", there were a couple good general guides that are printable. If youe high voltage tranformer (flyback) is gone, do not go any further. Price of a monitor flyback is $65 to over $100 depending on model.

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

Most common failures in these LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply C242 470uF 10V, C241 & C242 1000uF 16V, C261 & C319 680uF 35V failed as indicated in the attached picture, replace them at once.

If the power supply board is working then it is back light problem, first do a flash light test. If you can see the image in the flash light test, follow the steps how to test back light voltages: https://how-to-repair.org/repair/lg-tv-repair-manual-pdf/lg-led-tv-no-backlights-32ln5300-32ln5310-32ln5700-voltage-test-troub/2pyuXwNkBMA.html and follow the steps how to repair back light LEDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_poWTEihIJU Fix Led Backlights for TV or Monitor Lg Led Tv No Backlights 32ln5300 32ln5310 32ln5700 Voltage Test Troub Lg... Sudden failure - working fine then next time switched on no apparent power (no indicator light on), no display

You could have a power supply problem in the LCD monitor.
First check the power lead, make sure it is firmly inserted into the mains socket and into the monitor.
Try inserting it into a different main socket that is operating, to see if the power indicator LED lights up.
If you have determined it is the LCD monitor is faulty, then it requires repairing.

The ON/OFF button blinks but no screen image

Hello,

Since the power led button is on, I think the picture board on your monitor is faulty that is why it is not displaying anything.

Since your computer work perfectly with other monitor, it means the picture board is bad that is why it is not displaying any image.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or any service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself in other to complicate issues.

Take care.

How to repair

MY SUGGESTION IS TO BUY A REPLACEMENT MONITOR AN LCD BECAUSE IT USES LESS energy about 50% less and at a low voltage.

YOU PROBABLY CAN FIND ANOTHER RELAY AND CAPACITOR ONLINE OR AT A TV REPAIR SHOP electronics supply warehouse BUT IF THESE COMPONENTS WENT BAD
OTHER COPONENTS MAY BE BAD ALSO AS A RESULT OF THESE HAVING FAILED SOMTIMES RESISTORS,DIODES AND TRASISITORS LOOK GOOD VISUALLY BUT ARE NOT.

Save your self sometime and money by getting a new lcd monitor

even if you repair your monitor its still old if you replace this mointor with a new one you elimiate all risk because a new monitor will have all new parts and a warranty and save money on your electric bill because it takes less power to operate.

The monitor would not turn on. Only the orange LED does.

1. Make sure the monitor cable is fully plugged into the computer. 2. If the new monitor works fine, The connection between the previous monitor and the PC was bad. Reconnect the original monitor to the PC and make sure that the connection is snug. Tighten down the video connectors until they are snug. Try again. good luck..
