In sponge filters water is forced through porous foam. Water flowing though the sponge allows the growth of a colony of beneficial bacteria which neutralizes toxic ammonia. Most sponge filters uses two sponges attached to one lift tube which is an advantage that the sponges can be cleaned one at a time, reducing bacterial loss.

How to access sponge filter on Ryobi lawn mower

To access the sponge filter on a Ryobi RM2010 electric lawn mower, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure the lawn mower is turned off and unplugged.
  2. Locate the cowl on the side of the lawn mower. This is the cover that protects the engine.
  3. Look for the height adjustment lever on the same side as the cowl. The sponge filter is typically located under the cowl, near the height adjustment lever.
  4. Lift the cowl to access the sponge filter. The cowl may be secured with clips or latches, or it may be held in place by screws.
  5. Once the cowl is open, you should be able to see the sponge filter. It may be held in place with a clip or other fastening device.
  6. Carefully remove the sponge filter from its housing and set it aside.
  7. Use a soft brush or a cloth to gently clean any dirt or debris from the filter. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or detergents, as these can damage the filter.
  8. Once the filter is clean, replace it in its housing and secure it in place.
  9. Close the cowl and make sure it is securely fastened.

Dell PDA Battery Cover Warning Messages & Won't Power on

This is my 1st posting on this forum although I've done a lot of reading regarding the battery cover I think this is the correct solution.

To everyone that's having problems with the back plate battery cover warning messages or problems not booting up on your Dell PDA, I think I've found the answer, I have 2 Dell's PDA's, 1 a X51v & the other a X50v, I was having problems with both of them (1 had battery cover warning messages & the other had a screen freezing) so I stripped the 2 of them down when I had both rear shells together I noticed that the small piece of sponge that Dell fit to the latching mechanism one was on the far right of the latching plate on one & the other was in the middle of the plate, I looked to see which shell belong to which PDA & the one I was having problem with battery cover warning messages the sponge far right, so I swapped the back shells around & booted it up BINGO!!!!! problem solved, I'm fairly sure the SPONGE SHOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LATCH PLATE, if I'm right Dell engineers & executives should be shoot, such a simple fix why didn't they let owners know about this. This has got to be easier than trying to bridge the switch contacts or rip the switch off the board, give it a go guys, Please let me know if it works on your PDA. I will upload some photo should any of you guys need.

Lost cover to the air filter where can i get another one at.

How about using a sponge & a pair of scissors. I did this yesterday. But I also put some mixed fuel on the perspective sponge to see if it can handle it and not turn to goo! You dont want to suck that into the motor.

Fluval u2 aquarium filter will not restart after tank maintenance

Firstly ensure that the impeller is in the motor house.
If so make sure the well the impeller sits in is clear of debris.

If so try running the motor out of the water and removed from the filter, if the impeller doesn't move try giving it a nudge with a pencil.
If none of this works the sealed motor may be broken and will need to be taken to the supplier for repair or replacement.

What's a power filter?

Power filter are much easier to maintain and as effective as the others. A siphon tube pulls water from the tank into the filter box and passes the water though a mechanical filter. Then the sponge doubles as a biological filter. An internal pump then returns the filtered water into the aquarium. The advantage is that the foam sponge can be easily inspected for clogging or removed for cleaning therefore reducing bacterial loss.

It is three and a half years old and ices up even at warm temps.

The problem you're having is generally caused by the air intake filter needing to be removed and cleaned and/or the cooling coils need to be cleaned.

I assume you already know how to remove and clean the filter, since you've had the unit for 3 1/2 years, so I won't bore you by addressing that.

The coils can be cleaned with warm water and a mild dish washing detergent using a sponge or rag. Once they have been wiped down, rinsed and dried, apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

Hope this helped you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

The interior of the air conditioner behind the adjustable directional flow fins is covered with mildew. How can it be cleaned?

Remove the front of he unit, as if you're going to clean the filter. That will give you access to what you need to clean. Use warm water and dish washing liquid to wipe off the mildew. Rinse with clear water and a sponge, dry thoroughly and replace the filter and the front of the unit.

NOTE: Before attempting any of the above. Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.

The filter is getting ice on it when I turn it on.

If you haven't already, clean the filter after it has thawed. In addition, the coils behind the filter may need cleaning.

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it. Remove the filter and the upper half of the front of the cabinet. Clean the cools with warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse with a damp sponge, dry the coils and apply a light coating of WD40. Reassemble the cabinet, plug the unit in, turn it back ON and take it for a test drive. Be sure to clean the filter at least once every 2 weeks.

HEPA Filter

My vacuum came with a sponge over the filter and the directions said I could wash the filter. Do the directions mean to wash the black sponge or the actual filter? Is the sponge part of the filter or is it trash?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Typically the top filter of which is the sponge is washable but the HEPA filter is not, it can be brushed off and vacuum off with another vacuum, but the best filtration is to replace the HEPA filter and to wash the sponge filter, if the sponge filter get to bad then replace the sponge filter as well. Or, you can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the manufacturer’s website and or phone #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
