Yes. Most trainers have adjustments for elevation. The elevation feature on an elliptical doesn't make the workout harder; instead it changes the emphasis so that the higher the slant, the more your glutes and hamstrings will be worked out; whereas the lower positions emphasize more on your quads and calves.

Quite the opposite. Elliptical trainers are great for people with knee injuries. Elliptical trainers limit the strain on your knees because it is a non-impact machine.

Treadmills have a moving belt while elliptical trainers have two foot pedals guiding movement - making it more controlled and safer. Elliptical trainers also have handles, in which the user has the option to move their arms in opposition to their legs to better control movement.

hello j ing...... If your trainer is less than one year old contact the place where you bought it. It should still be under warranty. IF not, your best bet is to have that break welded at a local welding shop or auto body shop. Look in the phone book and call around to see who will weld it for you and how much it will cost. Generally, a repair like this will cost between $20 and $40.

Precor Error 45, Lift Moving in Wrong Direction Probable Cause 1. Lift motor hysteresis.
2. Lower PCA is bad.
Corrective Action 1. The error would usually occur when the lift was already in motion (usually downward) when a lift command in the opposite direction (upward) was made. Some lift motors used in production exhibited a very long turnaround time and the lift motor would still be moving in the original commanded direction while the control system was trying to move the lift in the opposite commanded direction. If the error continues to re-occur, replace the lift motor.
2. It is a rare condition, however if the lift moves in the opposite direction commanded, replace the lower PCA.
