About 1 or 2 years ago my parnts bought an A80 and it has been a really good camera ever since. But recently we have found that the LCD screen wont show anything but the settings and the menu's. ive tried taking it apart to see if one of the wires have come out or something similar to that but it all seems to complicated for me to work out whats wrong with it. Please can you help???
This definitely sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Usually answered in minutes!
I have two Canon cameras one Digital Power Shot A80 and a Video Camcorder pal MV600, both display coloured streaks in the LCD display when in "shoot mode" and display something similar when played back. We took good care of both of these cameras! This is just for information. In the meantime I am going to track down the nearest (Spanish) Canon repair centre.
when ever i switch on the camera though the batteries are full, it says change battery pack .
