You do not need a USB driver for XP - just plug the device in and it will load the drivers. If the device comes with software then install that after it says your USB device has been detected

Usb port is not working in 1131 tx running on xp

You probably need to get the right drivers for XP.Even though XP may seem to have installed all or most of your devices you still should get the correct drivers starting with the chipset driver.Make sure you install the chipset driver first, then all the other drivers put out by the manufacturer.Go to their website and in support and drivers get ALL of the avaliable drivers for XP and update your drivers, especially the chipset.

USB 2.0 (Chipset VIA 8237) ECS P4M800-M7 Unknow Device

Hi, John

The USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 is a big issue regarding technology, the 1.1 has maximum speed of 12 megabits where as 2.0 has upto 480 Mbps. And all USB 2.0 devices are compatible with 1.1. Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional are both fully USB 2.0-compliant with the correct drivers.

So in your case it must work properly. But if the USB 2.0 from microsoft got currepted or badly updated by some thirdparty USB 2.0 driver then it will not work. I have been faced this problem. After doing some stuff I found that if I uninstall the USB drivers and reinstall it from microsoft driver then it works.

So, just go to the Device manager and un-install the USB drivers, then reboot the system to parmanently delete the removed driver. Then install the driver from Windows XP CD.

good luck

Thanks
Iqbal
